USC's Mayo will declare he's entering NBA draft

SC freshman guard O.J. Mayo will declare for the NBA draft and will hire an agent soon, a school spokesperson said. Mayo is projected in the top 10 in the NBA lottery. Mayo led the Trojans in scoring with 20.7 points a game, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game. Mayo helped lead the Trojans to a 21-12 overall record, 11-7 in the Pac-10.

He's dreamed of going to the NBA since he started getting publicity in the 7th grade at Rose Hill. This isn't very shocking at all... Good luck to him though!

Where have the years gone! Seems like yesterday he was in the 7th grade and everyone was talking about him being the next big thing, now here he is declaring for the NBA. Wish him nothing but success.

Its weird to think. But I kinda saw this coming. He would've went straight from high school if it wasn't for that rule.

I agree, he will be a very good NBA player if not this coming NBA season then next. Even though I don't really care for pro basketball O.J. has got me wanting to watch him next year, he's such an exciting player! :bball:

Yea although he said he was going to finish out until spring classes are over with.

well I think he should have stayed at least one more year, but i would say it would be hard not leave, having all of that money flashed in your face
