Estill Will be VERY good. Would have been my top pick for a district title until Johnny Fairplay decided Harlan Central would play Cawood's schedule next year.
#3
You would have picked them over Breathitt?
#4
Estill will be very strong returning benedict and baber
#5
Estill returns alot more than those two. Although those are two good ones though. Estill's major ? will be their lack of depth. Breathitt should be the usual one to beat in the dist. and Harlan ought to be pretty good and let's not forget about Fleming, they just had an off year last year. Look for Peterson and crew to have the Panters back in the mix next year. Powell ought to be much better also. This district is shaping up to be a pretty good one for next year.

Back to the 2003 year when Estill was 8-3 only lost 6 players and the next year were 3-7. Don't see that happening next year. Should be 9-1, Breathitt being the only loss. Depending on Estill's defense, they could be better than that. They gave up 23 points a game in 07, that is not good to say the least, but they were able to control the clock and beat who they were supposed to beat except for Pineville. Harlan Co. is not going to be a threat for them yet, I look for Fleming to be much better, they were mainly Sophomores and Freshmen. You don't need to mention Powell, they will not be in the mix, read their threads, it is one drama after another and another year of 8 or 9 wins. Powell will be the same, 3-4 wins.

Let me requote myself. Estill will be loaded next year! They have everybody back except maybe 2 or 3 seniors. Top 3 will be Breathitt, Estill, and Fleming not in any particular order. Larkey is a great coach but I don't think he will work miracles in his first year. Look at Letcher Co. Central for example. They combined 3 schools and had one of the best coaches to ever coach in the state and it took them 3-4 years to get up to where they are at. School size doesn't mean anything except you have more to choose from. However, you still can only play 11. So Breathitt will be loaded, Estill will be loaded, Fleming will be much better, and Harlan Co will be a lot better than Cawood was. Should be a good district with the Bobcats being the top dawg. Cawood was very weak last year, not a typical Cawood team.

How do you figure? Breathitt beat Estill in every way possbibel, not once, but twice last year? I'm not dissing Estill or nothing, but how and why do you pick Estill over Breathitt?

Nobody in the Powell thread has predicted 8-9 wins. They have said they will have a winning season and who knows. Maybe they will. And who are you to say that they will only win 3-4 games?

I am pretty sure I am allowed my opinion. Talk has been going on in Powell with every new coach that has come and gone. The most you have won is 5. Respond at the end of the season, I won't even say I told you so.

Yeah you are and I know that Powell has said that they are gonna win state and all that in past years. And obviously, we didn't. But, We didn't say we was gonna win 9 games. We might have a winning season, but who knows. ANything can happen. Right?
