I saw Cumberland County play Whitfield Academy yesterday and they looked tough. They may be the team to beat this year.

Actually, they only lost by 6. And, I will disagree and say they only played well for most of the first half. The first quarter was very exciting and the girls really looked good. But they made some unbelievable turnovers to lose this one. And, at one point, went 11 minutes without scoring. You just can't do that. Ballard was the better team last night, but not the better team period. Sad for the girls - really wanted them to win. The second half was pretty painful to watch. Biggest bright spot: really good officiating! I must commend the referees! And, I thought it was great to have the band, cheerleaders, and dance team there to support the team. But, I hate it that Valley didn't bring fan buses. Someone explain that one to me. Ballard probably had 100 students in the pep section and they made a lot of noise.
Anyway, SV shake that one off. You've got a big district game this weekend that you certainly can't afford to give away.

Both the KHSAA and http://www.allaclassic.org has the final as:
Ballard Memorial-56
Shelby Valley-49
Not trying to start anything, but it sure looks as if they lost by 7 if you do the math. I'm sure that both websites are correct and would not post up false information. You can take a look at it for yourself if you wish.

My bad. They lost by 7. And, I don't have good math skills. lol I just had it in my head last night that they lost by 6 and conversations all night talked about a 6 point loss. Again, my bad.
