Varsity played 3 qtrs. Boyle and Atherton both have great defenses. Boyle will need more playmakers on offense other than Seneca Driver. They dont really have a RB that can take it to the house like Quisenberry and Brown did last year. Atherton will surprise some teams this year, they are really well coached.

We will know how good Boyle is soon enough. They just held Atherton with their best team ever scoreless. I am sure neither team wanted to show that much of their offense in a pre season scrimmage. I know Boyle held some starters out that should be back this week. Not sure about Atherton. You won't want to play either of these teams when real season begins.

LOL.  Garyon Hobbs did not transfer out of CAL for playing time.  He has offers from several Power 4 schools.  He has offers from Notre Dame, Clemson, Ky, Wisconsin, Michigan and several others.  I have no idea why he would leave CAL for Atherton, but it was not for playing time.

Your right BE, I forgot about Hobbs, and you could say the same for Robinson going to IMG, I was more speaking on the others.   Point still valid, CAL is loaded with talent, not enough field time for everyone.

I don't put much weight in this, from what I heard the ball was reset on the 20 on every turnover on downs or turnover, no live kicks or QB runs or hits and only 3 quarters. I went to FD/St. X scrimmage, I was talking to a St. X guy he said Atherton got 7 or 8 transfers since last January from multiple surrounding schools, he said they took in lots of talent? Time will tell on both squads...

Can't read into any of this... Boyle was probably beat up from the 14 scrimmages in Jabez......lol they are now, 14-1-0. still a good pre-season..

Agree on the RB's but I think they have several options there and Haddix will find the right players to stick back there.  On this night Driver only had 1-2 catches and nobody had over 2-3 but I agree on the season guys have to step up.  Mcpherson and Drakeford have multiple D-1 offers nothing near like Driver but they along with Jakeem Ray are guys capable of making big plays on offense.  There is no one on this team that can take over a game like Quisenberry including Driver not because he isn't as good just different type of players.  Driver is a better college prospect than Quisenberry and probably a better pro prospect but harder for a tight end to take over like a Quisenberry type can.  End of the day nobody I would rather have to figure out the pieces to the offensive puzzle for this team than Haddix.
