Shots just wouldn't fall. It was like the net would throw it back out. lol Grimm acted as if he had been eatin fried chicken before the game and had grease all over his hands in the first half. He must have washed them off though before the second half started. lol

great, i wish him the very best.

Paintsville won this game in the third quarter after putting on the pressure which totally bombarded Sheldon Clark. Had a total of 11 turnovers in the quarter alone, 20 in the half and 31 for the game. Congrats to the Tigers on the win.

good win tigers!!!!!
#9
well i watched this game....and it looks as if the coaches gave up for sc and just played everyone way too soon.....don't know what that was about.....

Guys, please keep the discussion on game threads about that game or the teams involved in said game. I'm going to be deleting posts that are about other teams.

Congrats PHS! IMO, the tigers will run away with the 57th

Great second half. Great win for the Tigers. Paintsville couldn't buy a basket in the first half. They couldn't have stood on a ladder and dropped it in. But they made up for it in the third quarter. Hopefully they will be a lot more efficient with Blake's return, not to mention it will deepen the bench a little more.

The third quater press was really impressive. DEFENSE is really evolving. Good game.
#14
The Tigers' defense really stepped it up in the 3rd. Great effort overall. Congrats!
#15
Paintsville is very good. They should quit playing mind games with all of us and decide to really live up to the hype this time.
#16
No Shocker, Congrats Tigers!!
#17
Goodness. I wonder if it will be like that in all of the region games? Watch out for Paintsville!
#18
Kind of what i expected in this one. Congrats Tigers.

Yea i know what you mean its like the Tiges let them hang around on purpose, then was a whole new team in the 3rd.

Congrats to Paintsville.

Paintsville did start to run away with this one after the 1st quater but they left their starters in too long for me. SC had their 2nd-3rd string in in the 3rd.

Paintsville did leave their starters in til about 4:30 to go. SC played a lot of different people in the third but I think they were just trying to find any combination that might stop the onslaught. SC also called all three timeouts in the third, trying to figure out what to do.
But let's keep in mind that the Tigers are going to be basically playing with 6-7 players, so it might be helpful for them to play hard for most of any game, so that when they really need to dig down deep in a game, they will know that they will be able too.

congrats to the tigers on the district win

Those who actually thought this game would be close were kidding theirselves <cough> Sheldon Clark fans <cough> lol

Congrats Paintsville

First, it took a little longer than the 1st Quarter for Paintsville to run away with this one (although they should have run away with it sooner).

Second, SC did not play their 2nd-3rd string entirely in the 3rd quarter. They played starters throughout and started using subs with starters mostly in the 4th.

Third, it wouldn't hurt the Paintsville starters to play a little longer than necessary just to stay in top shape. We are essentially a 6 man team (with Blake back) and we will need our guys in top shape when we play teams that are as good with a deeper bench. Besides, the Tigers played their 2nd and 3rd string in at least half of the 4th quarter.

BTW, since you go to Paintsville, just enjoy the victory dude. Why be so critical of everything about Paintsville. Maybe even name yourself Tiger Thunder. lol

Weren't the Cards 2 and 0 coming into this game in District Play? I wouldn't really use the word or insinuation "cough" on a team 2 and 0 in a five team district.

Paintsville comes home after playng in the 'big" tourney over Christmas in Lexington came home and took care of "business" in a district match-up.

Slone continues to lead a group that despite all of the expectations, they will be in the mix come Expo time !!!!

Enjoy the ride Paintsville fans that this group has and is giving you. From a distant point of view, going to be a while before another group like this comes around in Tiger town.

Congrats to the Tigers....
Who thought this team from Paintsville wouldn't beat most of the Distict teams by a few points this year?????
They suppose to....If everyone doesn't know....
They have played together for how many years???
Or should they have made it to the state by now???
#30
You're right Bond, the Tigers should enjoy this year and I'm sure that they are. I wouldn't count the Tigers out in the next few years, but they will drop a lot of talent to graduation and should be the underdogs next year. They should still be competitive though. It will just depend on how far the 2nd and 3rd string can develop. They have a ways to go at this point.
