One Side:
It’s high time we separate private schools from public schools in sports. KHSAA, it’s time to take action! For over 40 years, not one public school has won a volleyball state championship, while Sacred Heart, a private school, has claimed the basketball state championship for five consecutive years. This disparity speaks volumes—it’s time for a change.
Other Side:
On the flip side, public schools need to step up their game. They must work harder, raise more funds, and find better ways to keep students engaged in the public school system. Rather than focusing solely on separation, let's prioritize improvement and innovation to build a stronger athletic community.
Taking the Other Side:
If the KHSAA considers moving to a Private School Division, it should be limited to specific sports like Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Soccer, Golf, Swimming, and Tennis. When examining state championships, it’s clear that schools in urban areas have better access to facilities, and summer leagues, which puts rural schools at a significant disadvantage.
However, I remain open to changing my mind on this issue. It’s essential to recognize the complexities involved and seek solutions that will ultimately benefit all student-athletes, regardless of their school’s location.

If you are going to pull privates into their own class, then just class basketball.
Kinda stupid to not class the larges team sport in the state, but track and cross country are classed.

Private vs public doesn't work because public schools recruit as much as private.
