Probably not me. I put in fer it. I hadn't heard anything so I called to follow up on my application. They told me in no uncertain terms that I had a sub zero chance of getting the position. Said they would notify the authorities if I ever called back. I thought they were rude. I could have helped those boys.
Greg Parrett is a good guy and a good coach. So was Keith Hays.

Actually would be a good place for Madden from Knox to go. He started out in that area if I remember correctly and from what I hear the faithful in Knox County are not happy with his scheduling of cupcakes and cancelling out of other games. And Jackson would be tickled to have him I'm sure.

Best I remember of Mitchell(Madden), he got himself suspended as Jackson County girls coach for inappropriately touching a young girl. They suspended him and barred him from school grounds. I think that was back about 13 or 14 years. Anyone know what became of that? Mitchell does not exactly seem like a Mark Pope kind of guy. He was a good ballplayer, for what that's worth.

Coach Parrott had two starters transfer at the beginning of the year or they could have been much better.. They lost a key player to Knox Central and a big kid to North Laurel.

According to the local paper, he resigned to become the school's principal.
I've always liked Coach Parrett ever since he was at Owsley County. Super nice guy. Very friendly.

His girls' teams at Jackson County were elite level. In his tenure as girls' coach at Jackson, his record was 172-33 (84%). They were a state power for several of those years.

My source says Marcum was offered the job but turned them down.

Does your source say Robert might have wind that the skirt-chasin', panty-sniffin' current coach at his old school might be on his way out and Robert might be interested in a second act? Would be a good play by Clay.

Since Marcum's out and Mitchell Madden was banned from the high school for touching little girls , I have no idea about the Jackson County job. Keep in mind that many of my sources have either done time in the pokey or in mental hospitals. Having said that, my sources from Corbin to London to Manchester are saying there's some folks over in Richie Farmer country are unhappy that too much time and money is being spent on exes and hoes, instead of X's and O's. Do they try to entice Marcum back or do they stick with the Clay County happy hoedown?

Marcum turned the program around. Bad move with the administration to run him off for Gray. Personally think Robert would not come back to Tiger land if offered due to the same establishment still in place during his first strong arm exodus.

You do know I am a Glenn Gray fan? I watched Gray coach the socks off guys like Jefferson Davis , Tennesee Tony Pietrowski, and coaches at schools like Knoxville Catholic. Yes, there were some tough times but Glenn did some good things, and is a good guy. Marcum had very good success for the six years or so he was there. I just don't know if this current guy can keep his thoughts and eyes off of what sits in the bleachers or what's shaking pom poms long enough to draw up effective plays.
