North Laurel 73, Clay Co. 61, 49th district championship
#1
Hadn’t seen anyone post anything on this. Game was on a neutral floor at Jackson Co. Was North in control most of the way? Did it get away from Clay late? Just wondering if anyone saw this one.

Davidson turned it on from start to finish. He’s a matchup nightmare for about every team in the region with his ability to score at every level. Supporting cast helped but North can draw Corbin, Knox, or Bell and that supporting cast better wake up if they wanna play in the semis.

It was either tied or north was up 3 at the half, and the 2nd half was pretty much all north I think they stretched the lead out to 16, Davidson finished with 28 shooting 12-16 for the game, north put 4 in double digits shooting 63 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3 point line, they very easily could be the best looking team in post season play so far

Yeah, they are dangerous, would be slightly favored over KC, but would be an underdog to Corbin or Bell. Could beat either one, but it would take a really good performance.

Clay is looking like they have about an 80% chance of having a first round exit in the region. Same game plan defensively works well against them quite a bit. Sag off the point, get out on the 3pt shooters and they struggle to score. Offensive rebounds by Grubb tends to be their best offense most times. Lack of depth hurts too.

That Pineville/Clay matchup is going to be interesting for sure.

Please enlighten me then, oh great guru. I’ve probably seen a thousand high school games in my lifetime, I’m sure that pales in comparison to you. What statement that I just made is false? I saw every game Clay Co. played from the mid 80s to the mid 90s, that’s probably 350 games right there. On a Vegas line, North would be favored over KC. They would be an underdog against Corbin or Bell. But they are capable of beating either. What is incorrect there?

Lol Scratch is a NL homer. We all have our teams he is just a little more pronounced. You are 100% correct. They have already lost twice to Corbin and Bell is a perimeter team which is their weakness. Percentages say they would be a dog
