Louisville is now 22-6 and has won 16 of 17 since losing to UK on December 14th. 15-2 in the ACC and clinched double-bye in ACC tourney.
The Cardinals were 4-28 and 8-24 the last 2 years and 2-18 and 3-17 in the ACC. Unbelievable job by Pat Kelsey. As of today I split my COY vote between him and Ricky P.
You just know the NCAA will put U of L and UK in the same region which will stink.

May eat these words later, but I'd actually welcome Louisville in Kentucky's bracket. Double the chances that we get to see someone go deep, and if we met, I'd imagine that we'd try to play one another's style. If they beat us, it'd most likely be due to some combination of their getting hot/our being cold and them outscoring us.
Would much rather see them than an Iowa State or Michigan State type that can pressure us, get up in everyone's dribble, and fight over Zoom action.

I don't want UK or Louisville knocking each other out. I'm going all in on both making good runs.

Agreed. I'm thinking we're both in danger of bowing out early though. Will be very match-up dependent. All else held constant, the younger the team each faces, the more I'd like them.
Louisville only goes about 8 deep, so whistles could really hurt them. Don't know that they're going to be seeded high enough for them to be favored in more than one game at most either.

I agree BUT all teams are in danger of bowing out early in this tournament. All it takes is an off night or catching the wrong team on the wrong night. Both teams are also capable of making deep runs, especially UK if Butler and Robinson are healthy.

I had a feeling Louisville made a heck of a hire with Kelsey, but this has been an absolute grand slam hire.
Can't help but to like him, he is intense & passionate and done really well hitting the portal trail and the results are paying off. Chucky Hepburn is the real deal; he is the type of player that can single-handedly carry a team to a deep tournament run with one of those legendary performances.
As for the COTY? If I had a vote, I'd give it to him as well. Of course you'll have your normal coaches, Scheyer and Pearl, but everyone expected Duke & Auburn to be good this season, but no one really knew what to make of Louisville, and he has turned them around in a very quick time. One thing is for sure, this in-state rivalry will be great for years to come.

Kelsey had done a tremendous job at Louisville. He inherited a dumpster fire and in 1 season has them a lock for good seed in the NCAA tournament.
Freddy and Harry on ESPN Radio were singing his praises for about 10 minutes yesterday saying he should be COTY.

Yum brands is pulling its corporate office out of Louisville, so there goes the NIL money, will the players still come is the question.
This is just a stop job for Kelsey, he will be at a bigger program in 5 years if not sooner.

The players came before Yum and will come after. Louisville is a big city. And when Louisville is winning big (pretty much always until the wheels came off) there a very few programs bigger than Louisville. Like single digits.
