Final from Athens.
The Dawgs led by 16 at the half and just gave their NCAA Tournament chances a huge shot in the arm.
At 16-11, they still have work to do, but they've beaten Florida, Kentucky, and St. John's. Having a lottery pick won't hurt their tournament profile either. They have at Texas, at South Carolina, and Vanderbilt remaining.
Tough one if you are a Gator fan, as this probably costs you at least one seed line. Georgia is currently #40 in the NET Rankings and the Gators have Texas A&M, at Alabama, and Ole Miss remaining.
Their 4th conference loss puts them within striking distance of Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Missouri (who all have 5) in the conference standings. They probably still keep the double-bye if they beat Texas A&M, but Missouri won the head-to-head and has a far easier remaining schedule (at Vandy, at Oklahoma, and Kentucky).
For a team that came into the week as a #1 seed, the Gators' seed could see a bit of a free fall if they lose another SEC game and go out early in the conference tournament. Would think that they'll want to avoid the #4 and #5 seeds and meeting a revenge-minded Auburn.
Selfishly, this one hurts Kentucky's resume as well.

Georgia was hanging by a thread on the bubble even w/ the wins against Kentucky & St. Johns, but this one definitely propelled their chances. They obviously have to continue to take care of business.
Not trying to be ironic or anything, but I seen Arkansas was projected as last 4 in on the last bracketology, Georgia had been sitting on the bubble, but do you think this win would propel them over Arkansas? Hogs are 4-9 in Q1 games and the Dogs are 3-11, but those wins have come against Florida, Kentucky, and St. Johns. Arkansas has defeated Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan, Texas. I'm not asking this just bc I don't want Cal or Arkansas to make the tournament, but just actually asking if Georgia would have the resume to possibly jump Arkansas, of course it also boils down to how they finish the regular season out and how they do in the SEC tournament.
