Love it love it love it. Cards started off in the 1st quarter 80% from the 3 point line and paintsville was shook. Coach James definitely knew how to prepare for this game even defensively. And watts proved why he should have been player of the year. Now into the district championship for the 4th year in a row. Road to Rupp is smooth as silk right now!

One of the best games Maynard has had in a while. He stepped up for his team when Watts went out and made some key baskets to keep the lead strong.

Paintsville was absolutely rattled early on in this one, Martin Co coming out and hitting 8 3's in the first qtr pretty much sealed it. Paintsville did settle down and got it to 4 at one point and down to 6 at half, but some bad turnovers to start the 3rd and went a long period without scoring and Martin just capitalized on those turnovers.

One thing I haven't seen talked about on here is Watts getting hurt, he was favoring his chest/neck area after a dunk before half, I looked away after the dunk so did he fall? Just curious, it looked pretty serious especially when he didn't come out of the locker room for the 2nd half, but he finally did, came back in the game like nothing happened and took over. Supporting cast was for them was huge, very balanced attack.

So now Paintsville goes to the play-in of the super regional, definitely will be tough for whoever they have to play.

As for Martin Co, they move onto the championship against Johnson Central, should be a great game.

Cards win by more than I thought. Real question that nobody is asking is, why didn’t watts start the second half? Everything okay he did look sickly.

Martin County was as hot as you can get in that 1st quarter. Paintsville did a great job to cut the lead to 6 at halftime. There was a 4-minute stretch that Parker Watts was out of the game to start the 2nd half, I thought that was Paintsville's chance to flip the momentum of the game. Instead, they were down by 12+ points when Watts entered back and by that point it was basically over.

Paintsville could not buy a shot in the 1st half at the basket. When you can turn them into a perimeter oriented and 3-point shooting team they struggle.
