Alabama 96 Kentucky 83
#1
Final.

Game effort. Just not enough firepower with the injuries. They can pull an upset on given night but no way to make a deep tournament run unless they get fully healthy. As much as I love our freshmen, you ain't making a deep March run if you have to depend on them for as many minutes as they are getting right now. It's get healthy or go home early in tournament play.

Agree! I'm not in panic mode yet. At least not unless they say Robinson and Butler won't return. I am impressed with how well we stay in some of these and even win some. Next game is Oklahoma which I am hoping gets us back on track. If we can continue to survive in some of these games and get Robinson and Butler healthy while doing it then great. We need them come tournament time or we will be short lived. It would be good to see them come back at least the last couple games if not by next week. If they return healthy I like our chances of a deep run. If they do not, we will be lucky to win a game come tournament time. Can't count them out though, they do have some big wins with guys out but hard to be consistent without the top two guys on the floor.

What did you all think of the officiating in this one? I see a lot of complaining online by BBN. One guy is even calling for Mitch to file a grievance with the SEC. Gotta love this fanbase.

Great effort given what we were up against. Not bummed out by this result because it could have been much worse. No way that the officials kept Kentucky from winning.

It is hard to win on the road in the SEC against the #4 ranked team shorthanded and get a horrible game from Oweh. Plus two of your top guards are out. Then on top of that give up 38 points in the paint and 24 points off of Kentucky's turnovers.

Well said OSH. I agree 110%

This team with its talent level will struggle the rest of the way.  It just is what it is.

It was going to be tough going into this one and coming out with a win, they came out hot, got an 11-point lead early but Bama cut it to 5 quickly, then got it back out to 12 and Bama just took over after that point and never looked back. Only been in a few instances in my life that I have ever blamed officiating for a game being lost, this isn't one of those times, but I will say there were some very questionable calls/missed calls that favored Alabama, now they weren't the reasons Kentucky lost or decided the outcome of the game, the one instance where the ref made a b-line for Pope was really bizarre.

Just boils down to the fact that they aren't healthy like it's already been said. We've seen what Robinson is capable of as a scorer and a ballhandler, Butler is the heart & soul of this team and easily their best defender, so not having them 2 out there has put a huge burden on the rest of the team, putting certain guys in positions they aren't comfortable being in. Perry played a heck of a game in that environment, continued to be impressed with him, to be a freshman he never seems to get rattled. Also really love seeing Williams improve his offensive game, he has really turned into a leader on this team with all the injuries, and I understand one of his roles on this team is having the offense run through him at the top of the key, but man I just tense up every time he brings the ball up the floor, there were several times the other night that he turned it over in those moments.

They gave a hell of an effort in this game, I think a lot better than most would've thought, once Alabama went on the run to end the first half, it was all but over. Kentucky done all they could to keep it close in the 2nd half, but just couldn't get any stops when they needed them. Alabama is a good team, and Mark Sears took over that game.

Just have to regroup and hopefully get a W at Oklahoma.

The officiating hurt UK in this game, but I wouldn't say that it cost them the game.  There were several momentum changing calls/no-calls that went against UK that really hurt the Cats.  Also, the officials completely took Oweh out of the game with 2-3 phantom foul calls.
