Great 15th region basketball game. Martin shot the lights out and JC just missed too many shots to win, but both teams played very well. Huge statement game from MC. If they play with the consistent level of intensity on defense that they played with tonight then they will be playing at Rupp. Very fun game to watch.

I’m calling a Pikeville vs Martin County final in the region championship and if both teams keep it up, that will be an amazing game

Yes yes yes yes yes. The cards looked like they did during the region part of the all a tonight. Sharing the ball all around and the points showed that they did. Don’t know what CardinalStatMan got for assists but I counted at least 15-16 team assists from the cards. The bad shots were eliminated for the most part and most importantly the team looked like they was having a ball in front of the best crowd they’ve seen all year. Oh and that bumpy road that the cards were on on their way to rupp just got a lot smoother. WYMT picked the best for game of the week. Made a Statement!!

If you are a fan of defensive basketball you would’ve hated this game tonight. Defensively this game was as ugly as Momma Bones and Coach Newsome ring girling at the Rough and Rowdy. How many open shots does a team have to hit on you before you start manning up and play some defense? This is why Paintsville will win the district because they have the cajones to play on both ends of the floor.
Offensively Martin County was impressive and had all five players contribute. Central showed promise in spurts but it’s a up hill battle when you’re playing 3 on 5 on the offensive end and playing the Red Sea defense on the other end.
Thankfully this game was carried by WYMT and for the most part they did a very good job with their coverage. I didn’t want to tackle that crowd tonight.

JC will should win the 15th Region. Let Watts get his, he’s going to regardless. Faceguard Davis, don’t help on anyone, and don’t let him get off an open jumper. Davis killed every run JC made.
Not many teams can do that still score enough to win. Johnson Central can.

I don't often watch high school basketball but I caught this game last night. One thing that I noticed was that the referees seemed to call a good game, but I have never seen a head coach any more animated, standing on the playing floor, and chasing after the referees so much and not get multiple technicals called than Martin County's coach. He needs to calm down before his antics cost his team a big game.
That being said, he had a great game plan and his players executed it very well. The 1-3-1 zone really bothered JC, especially in the first half.
