Betsy Layne 92 Prestonsburg 71
#1
The Bobcats get the win at home.
#2
Keathley led Pburg with 33 points

Pente led the Bobcats with 28 points. Parsons added 27 points.

Keathley didn't start this game for PBurg which was odd to see. Betsy Layne was in total control of this game the entire time. Ethan Lance doesn't get enough credit for the Bobcats.

There’s a lot of baffling things. Like why do we continue to go under high ball screens and leave Parsons and Pente open? Why do we switch sometimes defensively then other times we don’t? I don’t know if we do these things on our own during the game or if they’re supposed to do it but sheesh.

I think it’s just a discipline and principles  thing. They don’t care about defending all the time and that can hurt them down the stretch.

Did Betsy Layne have an 8th grader with the last name Mitchell earlier in the season? I could have swore their was a player with that name that played well, but didn't see him last night, nor his name on the roster. Maybe I got confused.

Eli Mitchell is now Eli Jarrell.  Same kid. #24

He is still on the team. Goes by Eli Jarrell now based on KHSAA. Good player with a bright future.

Was it Senior night, maybe?

Was told he was playing sick. Kid took over in the 4th. As soon as I saw him warming up I knew he wouldn't stay out of the game long.

He lit it up in the 4th due to Bobcats subbing. I think he finished with 35. Radio said 22 in the 4th.
He got a lot of garbage points.

Keathley is arguably the most offensively skilled player in the 15th region but he seems like he plays like he is chasing a scoring record not really to win. He is a great 3 point shot away from being elite offensively but other teams know he will take a lot of bad shots 1 on 3 and shoot Prestonsburg out of games.

No one cares about the team or wants the team to win more than Keathley. It shows everytime he is on the floor. Pointing  the finger towards the player who has prepared for every game is ridiculous. For you to say he shoots prestonsburg out of games is inaccurate and I would be interested to know why are you concerned about a scoring record . I hope he chases every record in his reach and I guarantee  you tell him the same thing to his face while you write on here anonymously.
He played sick came  in late first quarter and left early 4th quarter and still had 33 and more points than any player on either team. Get off his back and quit ridiculing a student athlete.

How did I ridicule him? I stated he is arguably the most skilled offensive player in the region. Opponents know this and their number 1 priority is stopping him sometimes putting 2 or 3 bodies on him and when they do he still tries to go 1 on 3. Not a knock just stating if you are double or triple teamed that means there are 1-2 unguarded players on your team. I have watched him play but never spoke to the kid in my life. In no way was I taking shots at the kid. Do you think Keathley could play with a kid like Watts or Stewart who are ball dominant too?

No garbage points. Keathley left early 4th quarter. Someone did foul out while he was still in which then put the 6th man for BL in.

So you wasn’t ridiculing when you said he’s chasing a scoring title and not to win? He has played with the best shoe circuits and still dominated with the most dominate players in every position then yes I would say he can play with anyone. Not sure why that matters.

He did not leave early in the 4th. Game was over. Go back and look at his games, most of his points come during garbage time. Game is already over.

Also he was on Midwest worst team ever. I hope he goes D1. Just stating facts.

Keathley is a really good 1 on 1 player and there’s no denying that. But, he seems to struggle with a team concept. I didn’t get to go to this game but watched it on live, and it was the worst basketball game I’ve saw in a while. Pburg came out with a ton of energy but then it got sucked out of them and turned into a pickup game. 1 on 1 and whoever has it shoots it. Pburg just looks really really bad and completely miserable. That’s my two cents.

He did leave early in the 4th and his points were made before the bench came in. Just stating facts.3SSB has top talent in the nation but I wouldn’t expect anyone who deals with mom and pop aau teams to be able to comprehend the difference in talent. Cool to know you can hope that a kid goes d1 while you also spread lies and rumors.

Braxton was shooting free throws with 2:09 left in the 4th quarter before he exited.

D & D sports has the game if you need to go over there.
