South Laurel 51 Trinity 49 thoughts?

South Laurel with a classic Coach Davis lockdown defensive effort and several players making the big plays down the stretch.

Mabe with 27 and hounded the states best guard regardless of class per Nextup recruits into a 3-14shooting performance. Great win over the states #3 team

I actually like this. Will all the more impressive for my Hounds when they smoke those Laurel County turdsacks in about a month. Beating Trinity in Louisville is one thing. Beating Corbin in Gilliam Gym is another.

I’m gonna go easy on ya cause it’s getting close to Christmas. Mabe has NEVER lost a game to Corbin that he played in. Not saying anything else lol. Will be a good one though

Oops forgot that one lol. But in his defense was maybe 85% coming back from the knee ligament tear. Guess I should have said never lost in Gilliam gym, unless I forgot another one lol

I'm really looking forward to watching Mabe play in person this season and I want to see how Pietrowski schemes to limit his effectiveness. Won't be easy.

Big time W for South Laurel. Think most would take a W over Trinity over most other teams any day of the week.

Heard about the Mabe kid all off-season/leading into the season, not sure if I'll get the chance to see him play during the regular season, maybe Rupp in March but that would be it.

Alabama Huntsville has gotten themselves a dandy in young Mabe.

It will be interesting. Corbin will have to rebound by committee. Corbin’s outside shooting has not been good. Three primarily. Akins shooting 50% overall but only about 20% from three. He shot around 40% last year. I think Pietrowski had 1 point last game. Not sure what the deal is. They sure could use evan ellis. Outside of him getting eligible i have a tough time believing they can beat south. There is definitely a big separation between south and the rest of the field. Mabe is imposing his will on both ends. I do Corbin will get better between now and then.

I agree with all of this post. They do need Ellis. Beating South with Mabe dominating on both ends like he has been will be somewhat improbable. A guy like Ellis, who is capable of shooting the lights out, could give the Hounds a decent chance at an upset.

Gentlemen Tony is a great game manager. If anyone can slow Mabe down its him. My understanding is Ellis will be out 1 calender year per the non residence change transfer rule.

Davis most overhyped coach in 13th region. “Love his old school way hard nose defense.” How many regions has that won him? Really works against Corbin doesn’t it? Hahahaha

I’m going to have to agree with this statement, as far as the start of the season he does a good job but improving by the end of the year just don’t see much or they happening, he’s good at making the games played sloppy and low scoring, but winning 3 games at Corbin arena not scoring 50 points just not going to happen

Adair County beat Trinity 82-51 last night in the King of the Bluegrass. Perhaps the Shamrocks were a little bit overrated?

I read that Their All region Center Edmonds did not play in this one, they had no answer for Adairs post game. But yes Trinity had no business being ranked 3, perhaps the 10-15 range.
