Great game!

Nothing like watching a good hazard/perry game.

My greatest enjoyment was seeing the the smiles on both sides at the end of the game. Just a bunch of kids/young men enjoying the game of basketball.

I don’t think Hazard is a number 5 team in the state. JMO

Perry played a great game. Shot the ball really well and probably had somewhere around 15 3’s. They played physical, and rebounded well. Got some calls their way in crucial times but the officiating was garbage as a whole. They played probably as well as they could have and still lost.

Typical Hazard/Perry game. Doesn't matter what the teams are ranked, their records, or anything like that; it will be a great game. Perry came out physical and played a superb game. Thought Hazard would be the more physical team but was wrong. If they play that way the remainder of the season they will be tough to handle. I know they got into foul trouble but I feel that is what kept them in the game, aside from their shooting (wow). They shot lights out.

As for Hazard, wasn't their best game but they had spurts where it felt like they were about to run away with it. They were also without Higgins which could have helped inside some. Combs is a pure scorer and really gives Hazard an edge of depth. I know Mr Basketball is a big city award and all that but I feel Eversole is in the category. He takes all the opposing teams' best defensive efforts but yet still comes out. He isn't flashy or anything like that but man the kid plays at a different level.

On a side note, those who wonder if they should play in football, check out the atmosphere from the basketball game last night and decide for yourself. Yes, they should play.

Love a good Hazard/Perry game. Nothing like it.

This is a good rivalry and occasionally in the case with these type games all rankings and such are out the door. Players’ emotions and stimuli can carry them a long way.

It is like the Uk/UofL game. Most times it doesn't matter who is ranked higher or if the other is down. Most times it will be a good competitive game. Sure there will be some lopsided games along the way but most times each team will bring their best efforts.

This is exactly why they should renew the football rivalry. It’s just a game.

Totally agree with you on this.

I saw a lot of complaining about fouls. To me the reason the fouls were what they were had more to do with playing styles. Perry shot stayed out on the perimeter a lot, Hazard went inside most night. Perry came out with the plan to be physical and they were. It cost them fouls a lot but it also kept them in the game. This is the first game I felt Hazard wasn't the more physical team on the floor. It is also the first game I felt Perry was physical at all.
