One thing is for sure. 16th is way down in terms of a dominate team and dominate players. Gone are the days of the top three teams loaded with college kids. Injuries are making this region very competitive and wide open for now!
1. Ashland- I still think they are #1 but it isn't by much. They are lost without Woods and Carley. Some interesting facts after watching them play, very beatable and several 16th region teams can.
2. Menifee Co- They have 4 kids that really are putting up some impressive numbers. Some good early wins show what they have.
3. Boyd Co- Playing very well early and seem to have a very good chemistry. 7th graders really help this team, and they play their role very well. Stevens is playing big!
4. Russell - Not the same Russell team but enough to make it interesting. Darnell carrying this team.
5. Raceland- Much like Russell, Nim Maynard is playing like the best player in the region and she may be.
6. Morgan- This bunch will be a hard out. They gave Russell everything they wanted.
7. East - Disappointed in the showing against Boyd but still lots of talent here. Top 5 talent for sure!
8. Rowan- This ranking is based on what they have. Not seen them truly!
9. Fleming - Too much talent to be here at 9. What has happened to this team?
10. Bath- Some good outings early.
11. Lewis maybe missed on this team. Just need to see them play a good team before they move up.
12. West Carter, some good talent in guards. Boggs is a nice player.
13. Greenup, they have talent, should not be this bad!
14. Fairview matched up with Greenup and it showed why their 14th.
15. Elliot, really no idea about this team.

I think Ashland is the best team in the region. I also think there is a very large gap between #1 and #2.
#1 - Ashland Talented and the best coaching staff in the region.
#2 - Menifee Co. Good talent but not enough horses to run with APB.
#3 - Boyd Co. Not as talented as past year but I’m really impressed with the new coach. Give her a couple year and it will be back the good old days of Ashland and Boyd battling it out.
#4 - Russell Too many things to over come.
