Covington Catholic at Franklin County. Thoughts?

I think Franklin Co is on a quest to prove to the rest of the state that they are the second bet program in the county behind Western Hills.  I'm going with the Flyers.

Cov Cath loses its magic this week, FC wins and goes to the finals

I really wanted the Flyers to get over the BOYLE hump... But looks like Cov Cath had the same goals. of course i'm picking my Flyers, but I don't know a thing about the opponent ? who can fill me in on what to expect.

I know nothing about cov cath…but they beat Boyle by doing QB power run plays and Boyle had no answers for it. The QB doesn’t seem to be a great passer to be honest, if you can contain him on the ground you’ll win. Their defense seems to be ok but I think the huge back you got over there will make things happen.

I think after watching the Covington Catholic scheme on film, they ran primarily a 5 man front against Boyle and had good linebacker play from side to side. The offense looked like to me they like to run at the edges and they use what I'll refer to as a scissors look  , they fake a handoff one way and then QB may take it and light you up another way. He has a good arm as well but CC only threw it a few times and scored 1 time and got to Passing Interference calls on the other two pass attempts. Running looked to be the main offense and the QB was the main course fed to the defense.

Here is a link to the video to watch the Boyle/Covington Catholic game. This will give you a ideal of what's coming. Franklin County has a disciplined defense and I do think I would make CC beat me through the air and stop the run.

Is it me or did Boyle look lost on defense ? they had no one on the edges corners being blocked 45 yds down field...

Colonels has the big MO on their side. If they can go on the road and beat the state #1 and nationally rank Boyle Co, they can go into Frankfort and take the win.

Kinda hard to pick against Cov Catholic with the playoff run they've had so far.  That's another team that's been close to a 4a title.  Guarantee they'd love to be in the championship game again,  and they're off to one heck of a start. 

I'm picking Franklin Co though to win this one.  Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see this game go either way.

That big back Franklin had is out for the season.  They are still a really good football team.  I thought they had some of the best LB's I've seen on any team this year and I've seen a lot of teams.  I don't think their Defense gets enough credit.  I honestly don't know who to pick in this game.

Ahhh had no idea he was out. I think Franklin will be alright they’re a very good team regardless. I will say the passing game when I watched them wasn’t clicking at all but that was also week 1 so I’m sure they’ve gotten much better over the course of the season.

Im picking Franklin to win this one I think they have a better defense than Boyle had and they’ll score enough to barely get over the edge. Wouldn’t be surprised if I’m wrong though!

FC has a very good stable of backs. Moore was the big stud, but had a bad injury mid year. Cov. Cath from the stats got some some good runners themselves

Boyle was undermanned big time on that edge, they lost one of their best linebackers Jax Crowe to a season ending injury in round one of the playoffs and when Brown got hurt early in the game they were really handicapped on the edge they had know one with that kind of talent or experience to replace either one .

Franklin has not played a very good schedule, two best game at start of year ( an average Scott County and a good 2A team LCA), not really any good teams since including playoffs. Are they ready for a team who is battle tested who played a good tough non district schedule and two really good teams in playoffs. I am taking Cov Cath for the win.

I would think playing higher classes is a good schedule.
