16th Region Sleeper Teams???

The majority of the people can agree that APB has always and will continue to be BOYD County's big brother.  APB is better academically, athletically and anyway you want to look at it.  Boyd Countians could say they have nicer faculties and that's correct, but Ashland has a more passionate fanbase.  Don't worry about me, my school is the big brother & i will not commit harm to myself.  LOL you on the other hand it has imploded right before your very eyes, and it all started with that infamous recording of possibly the best HS coach in KY, defiantly the 16th region and eastern Ky. The curse continues for you.  Sorry for that and have a nice day.

The majority would not. Only APB does. Everyone else is trying to keep their kids from being recruited by the staff. Like most opinions they stink! Denial is the first sign of help. LOL

Ah, yes, APB—the big brother with that shining moment in its history: the “best high school coach in Kentucky” getting himself fired over a recording of him trying to recruit another kid. Truly the hallmark of a winning program. But sure, go ahead and hang your hat on APB being better academically and athletically—because, you know, nothing proves athletic superiority like a coach who’s no longer employed after trying to play fast and loose with recruitment rules. As for the passionate fanbase, I’m sure they’re all top-tier athletes too, right? Anyway, thanks for the concern about Boyd County’s “implosion,” but hey, at least we’ve got a coach who doesn’t need to recruit his job every season. Have a nice day, though—I’m sure that recording is still echoing through the halls of APB as their proudest achievement.
Coach A and Boyd most recent regional title came from an Ohio recruit. Maybe if he could control some parents he may could do better.  Time will tell.  I would guess for him it’s hard to coach when you always have to watch for the knife coming up from behind from what he thought was loyal parents. Have a great day.

Hearing the Huff kid for Boyd that went out of the game with a knee injury against Ashland, is out for the year. Awful news for the kid and the team, as he provided some good minutes off the bench for them. Hoping for a speedy recovery for the young man.

You have a recruit on the team this season that was recruited by a coach.  (Using the word coach very loosely). Hypocrisy much?

Fleming Co going to be a problem for teams this year.

Fleming has wins over East Carter, St Patrick, Bracken, Menifee, Greenup, and the lone loss was to George Rodgers Clarck.

While Fleming has an impressive record, it is worth noting that they have not yet faced any particularly strong opponents other than GRC and it was 88-63, not a great showing.  Yes, for all the teams excluding Ashland & possibly Boyd depending on injuries.

Lewis may be the team that's the problem for teams. They pose a lot of problems with their size, athleticism, and physicality.

Plus, I hear Hampton (Mr. March) back on sidelines.

Question:  Wonder how Coach Scottie Tackett is handling that?  1A or 1B?

Please enlighten us. Any proof of such actions? I do know of the video of Ashland Coach in the Russell gym with Neel days before he enrolled in APB. It is floating around this entire region. Is that what you are talking about?

Nobody in the 16th will come close to beating Ashland, they are a definite contender for a state championship but they are an all-star team so they should be. I’d like to know how many of Ashland’s starters played middle school basketball there my guess is 0 or maybe 1. Boyd county is pretty good but no where near Ashland. The only team that can challenge Boyd co is Fleming, if they get hot from 3 they can beat Boyd.

Boyd played without two starters in that game (Taylor and Hicks).

And the stud was held scoreless for 23 minutes and change. Ashland was out players also. #cantbeatemmightaswelljointhem

You really need to measure yourself to a high school player. You really do mental evaluation due to you lack of confidence. That is the poster statement. We can’t beat them. Lol. So we recruit them. Lack of self awareness is evident here! What a joke!

Heard Boyd picked up 2 students that weren't previously playing to help with their depth issues

Maybe you should call and try to record that conversation too.  One question… Was it a full family move or are the siblings still somewhere else?  You should know Bylaw 6 and 16 by heart.  If you can’t beat ‘em - record ‘em!

All but 2 of APB players actually live in district. None of them moved. You got to be big clown I have ever seen. You can’t win without recruiting. That is a fact.

You do know the Morgan County player at APB brother still plays at Morgan County. Just check the khsaa roster and record that. Just like the recording of APB coach in Russell’s gym actively recruiting. No moral compass or shame in your actions. Your stance is defending it and think it’s excusable. Your motto. Can’t beat them. Recruit them!

"Sounds like the Boyd coaching staff could use a referee for their meetings! Maybe they should settle their differences with a friendly game of rock-paper-scissors. Or better yet, how about a team-building retreat where they can bond over trust falls and s'mores? With all that passion, it's clear they care deeply ones self. Let's hope they can channel that energy into some winning strategies on the floor and become one!"
