Martin County 49 Knott County Central 0
#1
Final.

Cards got back to their power run roots and flat laid it to knott county. Very impressive showing against a 6-1 team. Cards should stick to this offense rest of year

Glad Cards got the W . Was good to see the Varsity kids having some fun and the JV getting alot of playing time. Agreed , should have went back to their roots a few games ago . They have to many weapons not to be using them all . On paper , this team has the most multi talented and multi sport athletes around. Maynard , Lafferty , Cheek , Stafford, Estep, Watts , Jude. The possibilities are endless

Yea 6-1 team. The 6 teams they beat have about 6 wins combined.  Good win for Martin, but this isn’t impressive at all.

I don't think anyone thought the W was impressive even the kids playing it . What was impressive was see at this point in the season for Martin Co . was teammates , coaches and community having some fun , relaxing  , and trying new things to see if they may work for the playoffs , which is what is suppose to happen.  Martin Co has not had a easy schedule,  they have had to play some tough teams which is how you get better for the playoffs.  Martin Co . is full of talented players that can't be used in many ways on a field .

Martin co has had a fairly solid season so far. Hopefully they’ll be able to continue this play into playoffs.

Knott may not be beating juggernauts, but this is a team that withstood a devastating flood, and a coach deserting them days before their first game- recently.

And a few years back they had a head coach desert them on a game day!!!

I honestly didn’t know if football would survive at Knott.

Proud of both schools.

Our program, as of now, is far from being out of the woods of surviving.

And Knott's coach leaving two years ago a week before their first game has nothing to do with their historically weak scheduling. But who can blame them?

One of the biggest differences from this season and that of two seasons ago is those kids are two years older and stronger. They have also finally been able to get some of their talented athletes out to play football. And those factors have made a world of difference. As they are now learning how to compete against teams of similar strength.

Now can they or will they build upon that? To one day go from not just having a surviving football program but a thriving one as well. Will the team as a whole (players and coaches) be willing to put in the dedication to discipline and hard work off and on the field year round to build upon the successes of this season?

I believe, and pray, they can but only time will tell.

One thing is for sure... the kids, coaches and supporters along for the ride this season have put in the work to be winners. And they deserve all the credit in the world for that accomplishment! Go Patriots!
