Second point on Pikeville kid. Stats are around 50% of the story on whether a kid is atop qb or not. McNamee CHOOSES not to throw as much as other coaches.
I've gotten to spend a little time with Zane's dad a few times, he played under David Buchanan at Mason County back in the day and they played Prestonsburg in the 2001 state semi's.

Zane Johnson is absolutely one of the hardest working and most talented quarterbacks in Kentucky. He's a pocket QB, that's very accurate and as a strong arm for his age (sophomore). He QB'd the Louisville Chargers youth team a few years ago I believe that won a national championship. Trinity has a lot of kids from that VERY talented Chargers team. Trinity will be nationally ranked in 2025 and 2026. That's how talented their 2027 class is.

I know he's been in contact with both staffs, but if he has a big time year this fall he'll start getting offers.

Oh it's definitely coming. Just hope he stays in state.

That's a freshman stats as the signal caller against arguably one of the toughest schedules in Kentucky.

Very impressive.

Absolutely. Starting at Trinity as a freshman is super impressive on its own. Then winning a state championship and putting up those stats is through the roof.

I believe they missed one from out west-
Jack James was only second in passing yards to Atwell.
