Only first round games that may be interesting is the Corbin/South and Harlan/HC

South eliminating Corbin in district would be a huge blow to that program. They were definitely the favorites of the region coming into the year.

Harlan beat Harlan Co. 11-3. The Jackson/North result wasn’t too shocking, Darren had only two seniors and ZERO juniors this year, so he was definitely a year away from competing for the region. Corbin beating South didn’t surprise, but the fact that it was 10-2 when you know South threw their best at them did surprise me. As you’ve said before, it’s a joke that one of the three (Whitley, South and Corbin) won’t be in the region, while either Barbourville or Pineville will be just because of the stupid district setup. Go to an all-inclusive single elimination regional! In all sports!

Corbin beat Whitley tonight in the district final just like last year.

Really it’s just the luck of the draw for region.
Both teams will want to stay away from clay but I don’t see a threat from anyone else.
