Shirley Beard new Estill County coach

She’s back and the 14th region just got a whole lot more interesting.

She will find out that other teams have closed the gap and some in the region are better than her. I doubt anyone is shaking. Only reason Estill was so much better is their location and nobody else in the region took softball serious. Times have changed a little. Estill still has the geographic advantage.

That maybe true but if anyone can get the Estill program turned around, it’s Shirley. Not saying Lynn couldn’t because he did win a region title and always won the district title in his tenure.

Where did the team take a turn for the worse? Regional title, several regional runner ups, numerous district championships. Not sure how you’re saying the program needs turned around. Games changed a lot in the 14th region since Shirley was there. Best of luck to her but she’ll figure out that it’s not what is use to be with the stranglehold Estill had at one time.

Not saying other coaches haven’t but Shirley can get the best out of her players.

im sure we will start to see the Boyle Counties, Lexington Area, and maybe even Louisville games on Estills schedule going forward. More tournaments too.

I wish Estill would start hosting tournaments and invite some 14th region teams down to participate.
