It was a dandy ball game. My Colonels came up short, but I thought they played their best game of the season.
Although there is apparently no longer a regular season district championship, the win does indeed give Letcher Central the top seed in the district playoff. Unless, I am mistaken the playoff pairings are not almost set with the Whitley and Clay matchup pending for 3rd and 4th place.
#1 Seed Letcher Central Vs. Loser of Whitley/Clay at Letcher Central
#2 Seed Perry Central Vs. Winner of Whitley/Clay at Perry Central
I think this district has a great deal of parity. Letcher has to be the favorite since they have home field advantage, but I can not be that anyone would be very surprised if anyone ofthe four teams came out on top. The new alignment has definitely brought renewed interest to these 4 schools.
