The Bengals 1st team offense did score (twice) for the first time this preseason. Do you read too much or too little into the preseason? Defense needs work as well...
The preseason ends this Friday @ home against Indy...

It's just the pre-season, doesn't mean very much in the NFL. Cincy will come around when the real regular season starts! Cant wait either

Well, not in the results, but you can get some indication of a team's abilities (sometimes).
It was 14-13 when the starters for both teams left the game (Bengals went for two at the end of the half to try to say that their starters won).
Defense still worries me a bit, but I think that it will come. Offense looked great.
Side note: anybody see when Ocho faked like he was going to run a post and then went deep? The move was amazing, and Hall bit on it and lost his jockstrap..

Yeah...Hall is still looking for Chad....lol.
As far as it just being preseason....the Colts went 0-5 last preseason, had the worst run defense in the league for most of the season and we all know how that turned out. The Bengals defense looks good in spurts. But the thing that worries me is....sometimes its a long time in between spurts. Its like some of us have been saying on here all along....when the D-line was able to get some penetration, they disrupted the Falcons offense with hurries, deflected passes and a sack here and there. But when they didn't get a push up front, we made Joey Harrington look like Dan Marino. Any NFL QB will pick you apart if given time.

Agreed with everything, and I'll add that I believe all of the defensive backs were playing too far off the line in man-to-man and giving them to much cushion. In zone, they were dropping back too deep and letting receivers catch balls underneath them, most of the time they'd catch the ball past the first down marker.

Actually, they went for two because Shayne Graham suffered a hip pointer and could not kick. He actually would not see the field the rest of the game after that.

Man, that's nothing new for this team's secondary. That's the same crap they did last year, which I believe was the subject of some rants by all 3 of us on the other thread. They are just too content to let the other team rack up first downs and move the chains.
It must be what Bresnahan's coaching them to do, because they all do it. One more reason why I am not a big fan of his.
