Wolfe County 67 Powell County 38
#1
Final from Stanton.

Is Powell that down? Looks like Estill might walk through that district this year.

Very surprised at this score, I thought Wolfe would win this game but not by this margin, especially after seeing Powell County travel to Leslie last week and beat LC on their home floor.

Wolfe’s offense still wasn’t firing on all cylinders in this game, but easily defeated Powell. Their defense was outstanding so hopefully their offense will catch up and they’d better hope it happens before the Breathitt game.

Wolfe is showing signs of improvement in the area which was most needed coming off a year where they gave up more than 80 points a game. All the scoring is still there plus the addition of 6-6 8th grader Skylar Ritchie. Offense will come in time. Players just have to learn how to play in close games now. Last year they played from behind in 90% of their games and no shot was a bad shot. Now when playing with the lead or in a closer game every possession means something and there isn’t as many shots to go around. All that will work itself out in time if everyone has a team 1st approach. 3-0 and averaging 65 points a game is a lot better than 0-3 and averaging 80 points a game.
