Of the twelve teams in the state finals.... seven of the teams are undefeated and have a combined overall Win/Loss record of 156-10.



1A: Pikeville (13-0) vs. Paintsville (11-3).... Pikeville won a 9-8 slug fest on Sept. 6th.

2A: Mayfield (13-1) vs. Somerset (13-1).

3A: Belfry (10-3) vs. Bell County (14-0).... these teams are basically mirror images of each other.

4A: Johnson Central (14-0) vs. Boyle County (14-0).... Two 14-0 Heavyweights.

5A: Covington Catholic (14-0) vs. Fredrick Douglass (14-0).... This game could be the best game of the weekend. Two 14-0 titans.

6A: Male (14-0) vs. Trinity (12-2).... Male won a 20-17 Double OT game back on Sept. 20th.



Looking at the teams, four of these six games would have been played in the semi-state round rather than the state championship..... well played, RPI... well played.
