Congrats to Boyle

About what I expected. Rebels got a tougher test before CAL/Highlands.

Now it's time to tighten that chin strap.

Mercer is much better than last year. They have some talent. Their secondary just couldn’t cover our receivers and their offense is too one dimensional. I think they will make some noise in 3A. Yulee is a good player and Darrien Bell is a good DE.

Boyle is a wrecking ball

Mercer is the best team that Boyle has played so far this year. But they are still a long way behind Boyle's talent level.

They are. But they do have some dudes and will have a really good year. They are coached well and Boyle Co has a lot of respect for them.

Darrian Baker is the player for Mercer not Bell. He had several tackles for loss in this game and is hard to block. Yulee has had a good season but ran for 15 yards against Boyle and was Mercer's 3rd leading rusher in the game. You do realize that Mercer played a cover 3 zone the whole game and didn't play one play of man? Mercer has an a really good corner in Dillon Warren and all state safety in Drakeford. We don't know if the secondary could have covered them or not. They were open because Boyle feasts on zone defense with no pressure on the QB. Their QB will pick teams apart playing that way.

The Boyle Co offense dares people to play them man-to-man. Mercer Co did the right thing IMO, they just couldn't put enough pressure on Lanter and when they did he scrambled away to throw or run.

I get confused by your posts a lot!!! Yulee is a good player. He wasn’t the best in this game. Never said he was. Darrien is a good player. Baker not Bell got it. The secondary’s inability to cover has nothing to do with type of defense. In a zone you cover the receiver in your zone till they are passed. Mercer didn’t have a ton of trouble there. They just couldn’t cover the guys in their zone. So WTH are you talking about?
