In a game that just over two weeks ago came down to the wire, UHA flipped the script and ended this one at the end of the first quarter.
The officials, one in particular did the best he could to give Caldwell all of the advantage they could get by calling 2 fouls on Hollowell and McGowan as well as another on Tandy in the first 5 minutes. That's right. UHA, who goes entire quarters without fouling was called for 6 in the first 5 minutes, 5 against their 3 best players. The official was awful in the Union V. Caldwell game earlier this week and was embarrassing last night.
But it didn't matter as UHA dialed up the defense and Kyky Tandy went OFF.
UHA forced multiple turnovers and Tandy made 8 first half 3 pointers to cement why he's Mr. Basketball. he had 32 at the break and sat most of the second half and finished with 36.
McGowan continued his amazing shooting and had 20, hollowell 8 points and 10 rebounds and KJ Crump who was part of the group that shut down Boyd had 10.
Of note, the Region 2 coaches should be ashamed of themselves for leaving Taquan Hollowell off of the all-region 2 team. A guy who is clearly part of the "big 3" for a top 5 team in the state gets left off while kids who barely average double figures on teams with 5 wins make it.
Just dumb. But Most around UHA have come to expect the jealousy and hate from the other coaches in region 2.
