McCracken County (1-4) makes the long trip east to battle Daviess County (3-2) in a 6A District 1 matchup.
Last year these two met up twice. The teams combined for over 1,000 yards in the 56-40 McCracken County season victory as the Mustangs ran for over 350 yards while stuffing the Panthers into negative rushing. The playoff game proved much different as Daviess County came back to West Paducah with a revamped defense loaded with confidence. They cut the Mustang rush and score by nearly 1/3 and stunned the home crowd with a 34-21 win. It was McCracken County's first lost to a district opponent in their 5 year existence.
This year it is the Panthers that seem to have the upper hand with their many, many returning offensive weapons. But, after a good win against Owensboro Catholic they have sputtered a tad in their last four games. Two of those opponents were very good teams and they had one game cut short due to weather. The Mustangs come into this game as a big question mark. First, are they healthy? Both starting RB and QB went out last game before halftime, and they were also missing there #1 DE. Second, how good are they? A team that was considered down a bit coming into the season has run a gauntlet of tough games while pulling out one win and competing in the last before the injuries.
Daviess County should be favored in this game and will look to put up video game like stats on offense and let the defense hold break. McCracken will be hard pressed without their starting QB, so his return is the major key to this game. The Mustangs will need a great defensive effort either way and maybe a few turnovers. Last week they did their job but time of possession in the second half really hurt the cause. At least they've had a week to make adjustments and not just a halftime break.

Davies County by 20. Mayfield is the only team from the far west that can play

I think you are highly discrediting Crittenden County, Caldwell County, and Paducah Tilghman. Maybe we don't have the same definition of "play".

The playoff game last year Daviess County wide receiver made some game changing catches that most can never make. He is very good. McCracken's DB are kinda short and struggle to cover, pass rush has improved which will be the key to stopping Daviess County.. if McCracken wins this one they will then run the table going forward. The playoffs are another story.
