Hines Returning To Pulaski
#1
The Commonwealth Journal is reporting that John Hines is returning to Maroons after a short stint with Georgetown College. Hines is quoted as stating that he did not feel right being and there and questioned the move the whole time. Hines states he felt sick over making the decision and being a distraction to the program. This is good news for the Maroons, but hate to see it for Josh Roberts. Not sure if he will stick around after this. Hopefully he does to continue the good work he has been doing with the defense.

This would be a tough break for Roberts, but I don’t see it the way you do. I don’t think Roberts was going to be the next coach. I personally think this is why Hines is back. Hines is back to save the program he and his staff built from the certain disaster that would arrive with the hiring of Jason Foley. And trust me, he was going to be the next coach.

Don’t know how you can say for sure Foley was the next coach. He has no reason being the head coach. Sugar mommas or not he did not deserve the position.

Congratulations Georgetown..........sorry about your LUCK Pulaski.
Wonder why he is returning...have many opinions myself, but I guess only the Georgetown coaching staff would be able to shed light on that.

Said he doesn't want to be a distraction, becomes huge distraction. Good job jungle hat John.:hilarious: Sucks for the new coach, getting your job ripped out from under you because someone obviously couldn't adapt to their new surroundings.

WOW! Would love to know what the reasons on for this.

There has to be more to the story.

I can tell you what I think happened. He got to Georgetown and realized he has to run that terrible Bill Cronin offense and said forget it. Coach Cronin thinks it's still the 90s and that's why Lindsey Wilson is now the cream of the crop in NAIA football in KY.

I'm pretty sure Recruiting Coordinator doesn't run the offense? Was he going to be the OC too?

There is a lot of truth to G-Town not adapting to the times. Lindsey Wilson is the best NAIA school for several reasons. One is they hire good coaches and run a current style offense and defense. The other is that the offer as many kids as possible giving them $250 to $500 a semester to just get them to play. The goal is to have at least 10 or so per class to be great players out of the 30 or more committed. Makes sense and has worked but it is a bad deal for the kids. Although I guess they agree to what they are signing up for.

I'm pretty sure Johnny was going to be part of the defensive staff. So the criticism of those posts above is irrelevant and pretty sure not why he is back at Pulaski.

I'm not familiar with this situation. Was this guy the HC before and went to Georgetown to do what?

Giving smaller amounts of money to players isn't uncommon at all in smaller schools. That's kind of how they all are, to different degrees.

It's also much easier to get admitted to LW than Georgetown and you may be right about his role on the staff. But that still doesn't change the fact that the GTown offense is horrendous. They have good players. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Hines former QB also left Gtown? He was the starting QB the last 2 years.

Former All State QB transferred to UK in January to complete his degree and had nothing to do with football. Hines decision could not have had any connection given the timeframe that one was gone 3 months before the other arrived.

Sounds like you need to start a new thread in the college section.
