(25) Life 87 (10) Georgetown College 75
#1
It is not often when Georgetown College men's basketball does not have at least one lead throughout a game. Even rarer when it happens at home. However, Life University came out on fire Saturday. The No. 25 Running Eagles (18-8, 6-4) scored the opening basket and never looked back in an 87-75 win.

The No. 10 Tigers (21-4, 6-4) were down 16 when they started clicking in the first half. A spurt pulled them within 11, but Life answered with a 17-3 run that started with a 7-0 burst for the game's largest lead of 25. GC had it down to 16 at the break, but an 11-6 run capped off by Jay Johnson free throws made it a 21-point hole early in the second half.

Eljay Cowherd showed Georgetown would not go quietly, starting a 23-13 run that had the home team within 11.

The lead ballooned back out to 20 several times and despite a furious pace down the stretch, Georgetown could not muster enough stops to ever get back within single digits.

Troy Steward led the way with 24 points. Cowherd added 16 and Shadell Millinhaus 13.

It was another tough foul shooting day for the Orange & Black, making 15-of-27 while the Running Eagles were 25-of-29.

Georgetown returns to action 8 pm Thursday hosting University of Pikeville. The Tigers will honor their six seniors – Quan Poindexter, Millinghaus, Darion Burns, Trent Gilbert, Jahyde Gardiner and Devon Rowan – during pregame.
