Corbin vs Belfry 2019
#31
This is what is hilarious, the same thread was started about Bell/ Corbin and Corbin posters are blasting Bell. When the shoe is on the other foot ...well just look at the post. The Corbin fan likes to have it both ways. That is hilarious and somewhat pathetic.:please:

I was thinking the same thing. Especially some that post on both with two different perspectives.

I'm pretty sure Corbin isn't dodging belfry. I for one really hope they start this series up. It's pretty obvious that bell county isn't going to be interested in playing for a while. That gap in the schedule should provide a spot.
If Corbin and belfry don't end up playing it still isn't the same as what bell county is doing. The bell county game has been a long running rivalry going back decades, and bell county is most likely going to end it because they're losing. Corbin has met belfry twice in the last decade in the playoffs, and would have to add belfry. I don't think anybody has much to go on other than what some known bell county fan has tried to stir up with what is most likely lies. Belfry and Corbin may have not even had a conversation about it. I don't think most coaches will start working on a schedule for 2019 till the 2018 off season. On the flip side, if coaches are already working on the 2019 schedule, then they may already have commitments. That being said, when Corbin goes to 4a they should really have a few "old friends" from 3a that would make great non district games.

Two wonderful ways of explaining one team dodging another.

Yes.

When was the last time Corbin beat Belfry?
#39
Surprisingly.....there hasn't been a long standing rivalry or regular series between the two schools in some time. I do remember Corbin playing in the Pike County Bowl several years back. Belfry won that game 21-14 I believe.

That was in 2007 and Belfry won 21 to 0
I think the last time they beat Belfry was in 1969 6 to 0 in a playoff game

So how is this really a rivalry? Corbin hasn't won since 1969 and they've played what, 3 times in 11 years?

Honestly...it's more of a social media-created rivalry than anything else. Very similar to when Belfry and Bourbon played in back to back years in the playoffs. Suddenly it was a "rivalry"....when in essence it was just a couple of good teams playing in some very competitive games.

Belfry and Corbin I believe has been a little different....probably since both schools are considered in the "mountains". If Corbin moves up to 4A as rumored.....don't be surprised to see these to play on occasion.

Mainly all the trash talk by Corbin fans has made it a BGR rivalry.

Belfry fans have been a little guilty as well:biggrin: I won't let all the blame land on the Corbin fans.

I have became friends with a couple belfry fans, and honestly most of you know Corbin truly wanted to play them this year but it wasn’t in the cards. As for scheduling I recall a three wanting belfry to play mingo or someone and all the belfry supporters knew then that schedules are already up for two years and said there piece, why can’t you’ll see that in this thread. Haddix isn’t dodging anyone, you’ll are very smart when it comes to this stuff. For the 2019 schedule have heyward start now trying to get into pigskin classic, Corbin will be 4a so they can play and it will draw a big gate, I for one don’t know the length of the pigskin contracts but someone will know when they will be redone, so keep trying I would love to watch a good game early. Belfry can replace Knox since Corbin and Knox may be in same district. Best of luck hope to see you in 18.
