Kentucky will start re-seeding its high school football playoffs this fall

Alot of this surrounds a team having to travel possibly 3 years in a row in the semifinals. If that specific team does not make it then who benefits? One such team is Boyle County but they will have to go to Belfry and win the week before....and things are scary quiet on Pond Creek. They are loaded next year and still mad about the way this season ended.

Looking forward to making our way out to Pond Creek and taking on the Pirates.

I guess I'm in the minority, because I like the concept of this, but it needs worked on a little bit. Especially how they come up with the rankings. Yea I can see where being an underdog and losing the home field advantage sucks, but I'm also on the boat of if you want a home game, BE THE BEST. The whole argument about trinity not having to ever travel doesn't really fly with me. THEY SHOULDNT HAVE TO TRAVEL, until someone knocks them off. BELFRY should have to never traveled for a semi until someone beat them, and they did. I'm all for it. I'm tired of seeing the title game in the semi's. This same subject was brought up months ago and this is one solution that kept popping up, and now they've done it and we still aren't happy. It's never going to be perfect but it at least its a start. Now if we can just keep media polls out of it..........

Might as well seed the Sweet Sixteen after every round or at least the semi's.
For example, we cannot have the worst team in the Sweet Sixteen upset the favorite in the opening round, 3rd favorite in round 2. They now have a better path to the finals than the 2nd favorite who has to play a better team in the semi's. So, the semi's look like this based off of projections prior to the start of the tournament:
16 vs 11
2 vs 4

Lets re-seed them to "punish" the worst team to now have have to play the 2nd seed.

I think the Sweet 16 should be seeded. It is proposterous to do a blind draw.

After it has already started would you want to re-seed it.

Is their any other sport or organization high school/college/pro in the country that "re-seed?"

In the semis maybe but probably not.

But there is no travel involved in basketball state playoffs so you can't compare it to hs football playoffs.
