Morehead State 98 Central Arkansas 94 OT
#1
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Sophomore Jordan Walker scored 12 of his team-high 23 points in overtime to help lift Morehead State men's basketball to a 98-94 victory over Central Arkansas Sunday afternoon at Johnson Arena.

With the victory, Morehead State now has four wins (4-6) in the 2017-18 campaign.

Morehead State was in control for the majority of the contest, leading by 21 points with 14:26 remaining in the second period. Turnovers became an issue though, and the Bears chipped away at the deficit and tied things up at 78 apiece with one second remaining in regulation.

Walker proceeded to dominate the overtime period. The 6-foot guard went 3-of-4 from the field and knocked down all five of his free throw attempts in the extra period. He was 11-of-11 at the charity stripe for the day.

Head Coach Preston Spradlin commended Walker after the game, saying, "Jordan is a special player, I truly believe in him."

The Eagles started hot as Walker and junior forward Londell King set the tone in the first half for the Eagles, knocking down back-to-back three pointers. MSU rode that momentum to a 34-20 advantage at halftime.

King fouled out with just over a minute remaining in regulation but the 6-7 forward played a key role in the victory, chipping in a career-high 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds.

Sophomore guard Djimon Henson added 17 points for MSU and stroked three shots from behind the arc. Freshman guard De'von Cooper reached his career high as an Eagle with 13 points on 3-of-6 shooting and also led with five assists.

Fellow freshman Malek Green recorded his first double-double, scoring 10 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

"We will enjoy the win, but what you have to take with that is the experience that comes with it" said Spradlin.

Next up the Eagles will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., Tuesday to face the Butler Bulldogs. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 8:45 pm ET and will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1.
