Who will be at the State Tourney
#1
Just wondering who all might be at the State Tourney this year. My son and I have been going for the past 6 years and this year he is a Senior so I'm not sure we will still be attending together at least while he is at college.. He may think he has outgrown me.

He did receive word from the KHSAA that he is the 9th Regions Recipient of the KHSAA/National City Scholarship so when you see him walk out on the floor at Rupp be sure to give him a shout out.

I think it pretty funny that everyone just calls it STATE. Not The State Tournment but STATE. Like, You all gonna go to STATE this year. Gonna have a big party down at STATE.

I always say Rupp when referring to the sweet 16. I guess people have different ways of saying it. I'll probabily be there this will be my 10th trip in 11years and my 12th total.

Agree. My son and I and a few of his friends have stayed there (Holiday Inn North) for 6 years. There also seems to be a rather large number of NKY people that we know who stay there along with usually 1 if not 2 teams that are involved in the tournament. Kids have a great time there and they have a number of very good pickup games played on their court.

With my son going off to UK next year I may try to get my rear end in the Hyatt or Radisson next year but I understand that is pretty difficult. I would just like the idea of walking over to Rupp about 10 minutes before the game starts.

Does anyone remember the Continental Inn?
Talk about a party!! NO wonder the thing is
closed now... I bet management used to
have to figure the difference between having
a full house and damages to the property!!
The Sweet 16 could get pretty sweet at the
good ol' Continental...

Do I ever!!! Wow what a great time. I remember the years in the 80s and early 90s when that place was rockin. I didn't see much basketball but I sure had an incredibile time when I stayed there. Loved that club they had where the guy played the 50's and 60s music standing in the front end of an old T-Bird I believe it was....What happened at the Continental stayed at the Continental..:Thumbs:Wink

The Hyatt is the best. Never have to drive anywhere. Everything is walking distance. Can't beat the Hyatt during "state". See you all there.
