My rankings would be:
1. Johnson Central
2. Franklin Simpson
3. Rockcastle
4. Hopkinsville
5. Shelby County
6. South Warren
7. Wayne Co.
8. Ashland
9. John Hardin
10. Mercer Co.
Johnson Central may get upset in the playoffs but they have outplayed every other 4A team in the state against a stronger schedule. Ashland and Greenup County's recent wins are proof that their district was not as weak as Johnson Central made it look this season. Both teams would have had very successful seasons playing Hopkinsville's schedule.

3 voters not counting me. Ashland was in mine for the 10th spot but the rest had Spencer.

Tates creek is no power house buts it's an solid win. Harrison is not that good and we all knew how solid Greenup was defensively. Harrison has been weak for years but the last two they have been about average. There best win is over Scott who JC just destroyed.

The same logic that kept Greenup out of the top 10 should have been used to keep Johnson Central at #1. It doesn't really matter because the relative strengths of the teams will soon be settled on the field, but I have not seen another ranking that has Franklin Simpson number 1. Cal Preps has JC #1 by a sizable margin. Even BGP, which has a history of bias against JC has FS #2.

JC should be #1.

I will buy into Ashland being a top 10 team but NOT Greenup nor Harrison.
T2T top 10
1. Franklin Simpson easy win this week
2. Johnson Central easy win this week
3. Hopkinsville Statement game. Are they to be taken serious.
4. Shelby top 10 crosstown matchup...hate this game
5. S. Warren If they win this week, watch out.
6. Rockcastle No cupcake with mercer but should hold on
7. Wayne Not so fast, Going EJ in an upset.
8. Ashland Enjoy last win of the year
9. East Jess Huge game with Wayne.
10 tie. John Hardin, Collins, Spencer. This is a dangerous group to play and one could
possibly be hosting state semi's.
There are some great matchups this week in 4A.

Rock maybe wayne yes.
Hard to judge based on Garrard County game...
Rock got them at home and Shelby opening game on road.
Shelby just destroyed the best 4A District in state and took down 5A #2, at the time, S. Oldham.

I'd rather JC stay at 2 and just out right take the 1 in BG!!!

Wayne, Rock, Ashland and JC all advance. Rankings won't matter when some of these other teams are home practicing basketball.

Ashland will win and JC with a running clock...Weak region
Rock will have a game to play with mercer.
Wayne has a game in front of them..My upset pick of the week in 4A..East Jess over Wayne.

When Comparing the Garrard game there is no comprehension. Rock Dominated Garrard and was over quickly. Garrard ran the ball all over Shelby and controlled the entire game. Rock and Wayne are Very equal. both wouldn't have a problem with shelby.
Dont Forget about the Beat down Bullitt East gave Shelby. Even with a enilgible player Bullitt East was a terrible team.
I think Collins or Spencer can beat Shelby and they are as average as it gets.
Shelby hasnt played anyone that can come close to touching the teams in the best district's in 4A :biglmao:. they will see a real football team when they get out of there Cupcake region, And that will be a quick one.

It really amazes me that you are so quick to judge a Shelby County team you have never seen. Yes they lost to Garrard the first game of the year. Coach Shipley and his staff have had this group on the improve all year. They were dominating the #2 team in 5A until they lost their QB early in the fourth quarter. They are legit, and have a very difficult offense to defend. They are well coached, solid on the offensive and defensive lines and are extremely fast. Wouldn't sleep on this bunch! Now not saying Rockcastle or Wayne are worst than them I have never seen them. I just know Shelby is a complete team offense, defense and special teams.

I can see both sides of the argument about Rock. Based on scores against same team, Rock looks better. However, I watched the Garrard-Shelby game. Shelby looked like the better team, by far. Garrard runs a unique offense that can sometime confuse defenses. The inexperience of the first week played a large role I am sure. Shelby is a team that could go all the way, but so is Rock. Hopefully, they get a chance to meet in the finals.

Greenup and Ashland are both top 10 teams IMO.
11-10-2016, 03:12 PM
Well guys after Friday there will be 8. So we will see who is left.
11-10-2016, 05:46 PM
And it will be a very good group of 8 teams who I think maybe 6 of them can win the hole darn thing.
11-10-2016, 06:33 PM
Shelby County is weak. Rockcastle County would run through them like a wet paper bag .

Seen South Oldham play North Bullit and they are not the 2nd best team 5A. Shelby should be Ranked, but Not 4th. They are solid 7th. Would put South Warren, Wayne and Rockcastle A head of them.
