The Kentucky Football Coaches Association has named its Players and Coaches of the Year for each of the state’s districts.

The winners will be recognized next week during the state finals in Bowling Green, Ky. A Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for each class also will be announced at the finals.

Here are the winners (coach listed first, then player):

CLASS 6-A

* District One – Matt Brannon (Daviess County), John Stratton (Daviess County); Two – Tim Mattingly (Central Hardin), Darious Barber (Central Hardin); Three – Chris Wolfe (Male), Hayden Shelton (Male); Four – Bob Beatty (Trinity), Rodjay Burns (Trinity); Five – Randy Borchers (Cooper), Marcus Watson (Cooper); Six – Jeff Marksberry (Simon Kenton), Dillon Powell (Simon Kenton); Seven – Jim McKee (Scott County), Keith Guy (Scott County); Eight – Antoine Sims (Tates Creek), Walker Wood (Lafayette).

CLASS 5-A

Who votes on these?

The coaches in each district vote on their district only if they are a member of the association can coach vote or player win. Not sure if there is a list of member coaches. Also can't vote on your own player or for yourself!

I wondered about that too, since in some of it they did not follow the KHSAA stats at all for a District in their selection.
