Somerset question
#1
Does Somerset play JV? I never hear about their games and every time I watch the jv warriors play I see one of their coaches.
#2
Yes they play in a conference with Wayne, Rockcastle and Casey. They are currently second in the conference.

He must have a relative on the warrior team, I've seen him at a few varsity games on nights Somerset isn't playing. I'd figure they would want to scout a team they actually play or watch their own JV team play. Who is winning that conference, any standouts for the young jumpers?

Wayne County is 8-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play and hosts Somerset I think for the "championship" Monday night. This conference gets each team 6 games and the one and two seeds and extra game, so it's good work for the teams and not a lot of driving. The only disappointing thing is Casey's numbers were really down by the end of the season.

Agreed. Would love to see the conference add a couple more nearby JV teams to enable a some type of two-division setup. Each team could play each division opponent twice and each out-of-division opponent once.

For instance:

East Division: North Laurel, Rockcastle County, Somerset
West Division: Casey County, Russell County, Wayne County

A setup like that would help ensure each JV team 7 games (or 8, if they reach the conference title game). And they could always pick up another game or two out-of-conference if they wanted.

Sounds great. I bet Pulaski would be willing to join that conference. I know they have a hard time getting JV games.
