Final!
I think that we can safely say that (at this point) JC is not a regional favorite!
They have had a very disappointing season from what was expected of them. They may be able to turn it around and in March all bets are off, but no doubt they are struggling right now even against marginal competition.
Congrats to Ashland and better luck the rest of the way Eagles!

Anyone know how McCarty did, or if he even played?

McCarty did not play in this one. Nursing that thumb injury tonight. Overall I thought the Eagles played well tonight. They showed promise considering the players that played tonight will all return next year but that's along way from now. Had McCarty played it might of been different but the Eagles played with alot of energy and passion. A little more than what has been shown these last few games.

Ashland is a nice team and IMO would probably win the 15th, because of their size. It will be interesting when Belfry plays JC. It will all come down to rebounding. When both teams rebound better they will be fine. JC and Belfry has took some bad rap this tourney but they have played good teams and both will be stronger because of it. Nice tournament JC.

I think that if McCarty would have played, that energy and passion JC played with would have been much lower.

Some said before the season started that JC was one of the top three teams in the Region, I personaly thought that they should have been ranked around fifth or sixth in the pre-season. I'm not saying that by the end of the season they couldn't be ranked higher. JC lost a lot of experience from last years team, they lost 5 seniors all had a considerable amount of playing time and then throw in the loss of Blanton and Meeks and now with McCarty being injured. As far as the Ashland game goes they played far better than I expected.

When the class of 2007 was in Middle School, they were one of the most dominate teams to ever come out of JC Middle. There is not one single player left that is still playing from that original team. McCarty was originally part of the class of 2006, so he can't be included.

So Rooster, since we are talking trivia, would you be able to tell us what happened to the 2007 class that came out of JC Middle? Did they all decide not to play, transfer or what? That is amazing that an entire class of players could have disappeared from a team in such a short time!

Hmm....that very well may be true, but the young Golden Eagles where asked to step up tonight and they did respectfully. They shouldn't rely on McCarty too much, but a player of that caliber...it's hard not to. McCarty's injury cost them the loss, although the Eagles had every chance to win the ball game.
