Yes, I know bids are put in to host state championship events for X number of seasons. And yes, I do realize that Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Paducah and Bowling Green are the biggest cities in the state and have resources to host state championship events.

I guess my reasoning for posting this..... there are other locations in the state that COULD host a state championship event.

My home region is the 15th, there COULD be numerous state championships held in the Eastern part of the state. But I guess it's our own fault for either not bidding or not winning the bid.

Just for an example....

Bass Fishing at Yatesville Lake in Lawrence County.
Competitive Cheer at the Expo Center in Pike County.
Volleyball at the Expo in Pike County.
Golf at StoneCrest Golf Course in Floyd County.
Cross Country at the Mountain Home Place in Johnson County.

Don't forget Bowling at the Bowling Alley in Paintsville, soccer at American Standard, tennis at the Park and Playground and Rasslin' at the Community Center.

I'm just playing with you Pulp...I agree with a little work and promoting the 15th could support and host a State Tournament. I'm sure we could find a Softball Field with a real, honest to goodness fence somewhere in the 15th region.
