North Laurel 75 Madison Southern 71

Good game to watch

Heard they called khsaa yesterday and was told they had 30 days to make a decision

Broughton is def a diff player than he was last year. Kid has flat out put the work in.

According to a guy from the high school I talked to about it at the Madison Southern game, the ruling is supposed to come this week. I am not for all this switching schools in any way, but I wish the KHSAA would either approve or deny a little quicker, this kid is missing his senior season. Let him play somewhere, even if it needs to be back at Jackson Co.

If you want to argue Blake Smith, then that's fine, I think he is a superb player, really don't understand why we don't hear more about colleges after him. His height may hurt him a little as far as the next level goes, but the way he plays defense on top of his offensive game, I have to believe he could play at least at an OVC or Western KY level.

I think Smith has had a few schools show interest he's just not the type of kid to make a big deal of it unless it is concrete. To add to it I know the kid really well and he is probably one of the best "Christian" kids around. Very competitive and a little cocky but a very fine young man.

Thanks KyPlayMaker! Does that mean the KHSAA said THEY will make a decision within 30 days from now? Does North think he'll be eligible to play in January? That will certainly change that team's dynamics.

Hey you can't compare Broughton to Kobe! Kobe is closing in on 30K points PLUS 6K Assist

Yes I have seen him this year 2x. And I'm not saying he won't be playing after house is. Broughton has the potential to be really special. But I think he forces way too many shots and doesn't do the little things in order to win. As far as Blake Smith goes , I don't think you will have to worry about bigger schools after him because some are and more will be. But to me Smith is way better than Broughton and here's the difference in the 2. Smith will make the correct basketball play 99 times out of 100. Where as Broughton will not, I've never seen Broughton give up his to another kid going. And the defense is not even comparable. Broughton is a stud I'm not arguing that but if you really know the game and watch for the little things he's just not there yet. He has to learn to trust his teammates if he doesn't then North will never go anywhere. Last statement from me.... Would you rather get 21 points and win or 39 and lose?

And for the record no house isn't as good as Broughton but he sure would help that team. Just trying to get rise out of you northerners.

If smith shot as many shots as Broughton.....he would average at the very least 40 points a game. Tell me someone else who can average 26 points on 10 shot attempts a game???

13th region hoops Wrote:With Broughton lighting it up, North certainly looks poised to make a run at the 13th region crown. Has anyone heard win or if Collier will be eligible to play for North?

collier should not be ineligible 3 schools in 3 years his dad has no loyalty. I m glad they are not part of SW no more. collier not that good anyway overrated and over hyped when he played at SW
