In 2A... CAL should be ranked ahead of Caldwell Co. at the present.

Caldwell Co. has a scary offense (in a good way), but it's quite possible they also have a scary defense (in a BAD way). It'll be settled in a few weeks, but right now the Tigers do not have strong enough strength of schedule to put them over CAL.

In a similar way, OCath is difficult to gauge. Owensboro kind of ran over them and -may not- have another good opponent (exc. Mater Dei, IL ?) till tourney time.

Surprised to see 2A Middlesboro still at #9 with the lose last week.

I think Bell County and Mason County are both ranked too high in 3A.

Bell County's resume just doesn't stand out to me and Mason COunty is undefeated but not without doing it in ugly fashion against a very weak schedule. Their best performance is a 2 point win against a 3-3 2A Newport team.

Hazard is not the 10th best team in 1A. Their losses came in very competitive games to the #2 1A and #6 2A teams.

How do you have Boyle ahead of LexCath one week removed from LexCath winning soundly?
How do you have Madison Southern 3 pots ahead of Southwestern right after Southwestern beat them?
#5
Caldwell is just about to play their two toughest games of their season in the next few weeks.
#6
Apparently, it's a quality loss, so some voters look at only the Pikeville loss as hurting them, out if state losses don't hurt because they don't figure in rankings most of the time anyway. Wins help (see JC), but losses don't hurt. That's the only analogy I can draw from the voting and rankings. Strange, the AP poll seems to have always been that way. Bet you money if Belfry lost to CAK, not a thing would happen to their ranking either.
#7
Franklin-Simpson and Madisonville north Hopkins are always in this top ten. Are they better than Knox and Cov Cath? I've never seen either of the two play.
#8
They are better than last year but like you, I don't know if they are that good.
#9
South Western will be #2 in 5A by the end of October.
#10
Or possibly #1 Jim Rome. The state doesnt know how good this SW team is but they will.
#11
Bell co should be in Corbins place and Corbin should be in their place, imo
