Like I said 64, this one doesn't even deserve a thread. We would prefer to play the other marshmallows, you've heard of them, the orange jackets.

Anytime a team is rank #2 in 1A deserve a thread.......:biglmao:

If you are referring to Lit ratings we are not ranked #2. We are at #3 in 1a. That's good for now. We just want to be #1 in December.

Mayfield by a bunch.
#7
Mayfield's jv by at least two scores.

Wonder why Mayfield would even schedule Marshall in football... guess they need another easy game to pair with the Fulton games.
I would like to see Mayfield to schedule Union City, TN, Henry County, TN or even Martin Westview and create a border wars with west TN. That would be better than Marshall. Marshall is kind of like Mayfield, it's all about 1 sport and Marshalls isn't football, they waiting on basketball season.

Something wrong in mayfield......:why:

A few years back Marshall appeared to be going in the right direction and beat us a time ot 2. They are also a big school, I think these are the reasons we kept them on the schedule. Union City won't play us. Would you, looking at their record against us. It was almost as one sided as the series with Marshall Co. We are 22-4-1 versus Union City. Several of those losses to MHS were in their better years.

marshall won 3 in a row from 05-07 and only 06 was a competitive game, but that is about as good as marshall county has been, and it definitly wasnt the strongest of mayfields teams.
#16
2006 wasn't a bad Mayfield team. It was 07 & 08 that was terrible.

Actually, it's sad to say, but the next one will even be worse than this one.

From what I understand our schedual is to change next year.. the four week break helps as a recovery buffer from the first couple of weeks of punishment.. in years past this time was needed bc we wernt as deep.

We really do need to get a better team in this spot. The schedule will change. Murray becomes a dist opp, so we will have an out of dist opening. We will replace Russellville with a capable Murray. We will replace the 2 Fultons with a better Ballard mem and Webster Co. I hope we can also upgrade the Marshall Co game.

Since we are on the topic......
It is just a crying shame that a school as large as Marshall continues to remain bottom feeders.
#22
I'm sure they have some athletes in that school somewhere. They are very successful in basketball.

Well, we have already ran the 5 game gauntlet in which everyone was expecting us to take 3-4 losses just over 1 month ago. The results are in and t is better than ever thought. The obvious is that we came through at 4-1. I have also checked scores. We averaged a score per game of 35-23 through the first 5 games. We have averaged a score of 34-14 per game through the first 5 games this year. Now comes the part of the schedule where the crowds will dwindle and the scores will become more lopsided. I hope we don't give up any more points until you all start coming back out to watch us in Russellville.

Yeah, its heal up time, time to let the second, third and whatever string get their reps in.
