Powell County @ Prestonsburg 9/12
#1
Last year Powell County won 28-27.

Thoughts & predictions for this years matchup?
#2
I think Prestonsburg wins big. Powell County lost a lot from last season.

^^
I agree!! Prestonsburg should put this one away early!
#4
The best thing they lost was the officiating and clock. Both should be working at Prestonsburg.:hilarious::biglmao:

P-burg friend/alumnus Tony Burchett has done a great job in Powell Co. as they play fundamentally sound football. However, the Pirates are having to do a bit of rebuilding this year.

Prestonsburg likely takes this one by a large margin..

PBurg by 14. They have a good bunch this year.

Prestonsburg lost to Powell last year, so I'm sure they'll be reminded about that all this week.

Prestonsburg wins big!

I see a running clock. This will be a violent game and the Blackcats will not let off the accelerator after the debacle at Stanton last year. The rest of the games on the schedule this year are business but this one is personal.

While the players may see it that way, P-burg had no one but themselves to blame for last year's loss. If a game is close enough in the 4th quarter that a clock operator can make a difference in the outcome, well....you get what you get as it's out of your hands.

If this team has matured as I think it has, the Blackcats should be fine... They just need to come out and play their game.

The personal issues are due to injuries. C. Jarrell received a concussion after running out of bounds and J Reed got a season ending knee injury due to having his leg twisted while in a pile.

I agree. I don't know him but the fact that Powell ever had any chance of even being in a game with PBURG says a lot. Powell has always been terrible. They didn't even start football until the early 90's and they've only had one or two winning seasons. I remember seeing the front page of a paper sometime about 15 years ago where they broke a 33 game losing streak to Betsy Layne. Powell has only been able to get to .500 when they pad their schedule. So what Burchet has done is beyond amazing.

I wouldn't take a couple of dirty plays personal. Pburg hasn't exactly been angels in that area over the years.

What happened besides the two dirty plays last year?
