Former Powell County Pirate head coach, Brian Hall has been named the new head girls basketball coach at Estill County. Coach Hall has a career record (that I know of) (all in the 14th region) at 116-111 with 4 district championships, 5 trips to the regional tournament, 2 region semi-finals and 1 region final.

Coach Hall inherits an Estill County team that returns everyone from last season and takes over for Mark McKinley who stepped down.

I'm really thrilled with this hire. Coach Hall is a class act and a very nice guy and I know that the Estill County administration and boys coaches think the world of him.

Glad to see him get a coaching job. He also spent one year in the 15th Region as head coach at Betsy Layne back in 07-08.

I believe that Estill couldn't have gotten a finer gentlemen to coach their girls high school basketball team..I've been impressed with Brian Hall for many years as a coach and think the administration got the right hire. There will come a sense of fun back to our girls that has been missing for years. I hope our Seniors will have a great year and our under class of ladies will enjoy the sport and not endure it, I also hope other girls in the school system that are talented basketball players will now give our school and the girls basketball new found support by coming out and playing. To coach Hall and coach Hughes I wish you the best. Personally, I can't wait to see a group of well coached girls who seem to be having fun again....
