Not even 5 days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, the Ultimate Warrior has passed away. He also just had signed a multi-year deal with WWE.
Triple H was the first one to make it public, posting it on his twitter account.

He honestly didn't look that good on Raw. He looked like he was getting ready to pass out.

Man this is sad.
Dusty did you ever get to meet him?

This is sad. I wonder what the cause was?

I have been to shows that he was on! I just didn't understand a thing he said, thus I was never really a fan of his. But man, did he get a POP! His pop rivaled Hogan's, and when he sprinted down the aisle, the place would be electric.
I watched the HOF speech, and I swear I thought he was telling his family "Bye". As SK said, I thought he looked bad physically, and was truly struggling emotionally.
I hate to think this, but my first thought was suicide. I hope for his two children's sake, that is not the case. But when you hear about a wrestler dying at his Hotel, it's generally the case.
I'm not sure I ever appreciated Warrior, and as he said in his speech, a lot of people tried to bury his accomplishments because of how eccentric he was. I first knew of him through his WCCW days as Dingo Warrior. He had a look that was unique, but his over-the-top vignettes just left me confused.
It's a shame that after all this time, he broke bread with Vince and was welcomed back onl to be lost to us all again before we ever got to figure him out!
RIP Warrior

I guess I'm not a cerebral type person when I watch a football game I don't analyze play calling or anything else. I just enjoy the game. Same with wrestling. I don't worry about what they said really made sense or if they were a technical wrestler. Because of this I really liked the Warrior. I liked him a lot better in the W.W.F than I did in W.C.C.W.

I hope it's not suicide either but I wouldn't be surprised if it is. I had an aunt that I was really close too that commit suicide this past December without any warning signs. Warrior obviously placed a huge amount of importance on his physical appearance. When you get older and can't do the things you once could or look the way you once did it really depresses you. I'm in my early forties and I'm no longer able to lift what I once could and it is extremely depressing. Regardless, it's a sad situation.

As a kid, I knew nothing about steroids other than this guy was on them.
He was always the most ripped up guy I remember watching.

I'm the same as Dusty...
he always left me feeling a little confused and to be honest I thought the guy was a legitimate psychopath.
However, there was no denying the pops that he got and how much the crowd loved him.
He signed on with WCW in 98 or 99 and they blew it up really big and it went nowhere fast.
I'm just glad that he buried the hatchet with WWE and got the HOF nod, because his contributions were undeniable.
Triple H had some pretty rough things to say about him in his documentary - I wonder if they made up.

^ Great post. I believe it was HHH that seeked out Warrior to ask him to participate in the HOF, thus my thinking is they did attempt to resolve what was said in the past.
Something that was very odd though is why he asked Linda McMahon to do the induction. It was said on one of the news shows this morning that he had a book in the works. It's a shame that we won't get to hear his side of what transpired in his WWF days. I've heard positive reviews of the DVD that just came out, but I'm sure the Book was going to be in more detail.

There was so much controversy surrounding his time in the WWF.
At one point... he legally changed his name to "Warrior" and they sued him.

It was reported online (forgot the website) that it happened out in Arizona (not sure if that's true or not but that's what was reported). TMZ reported this afternoon that some people seen Warrior right before he fell to the ground, clutching his chest, drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as the cause.
04-09-2014, 09:05 PM
TMZ is the only organization to rule out drugs/alcohol at this point.
I wouldn't put stock in anything they say, as they aren't a legitimate news entity.
But from the sounds of it... I think it's a heart attack.

Yeah.
In the DVD documentary, Vince mentioned that he had failed drug tests as well. I'd say, like a lot of wrestlers, he's put his body through a lot.

How many of you guys have watched "The self-destruction of The Ultimate Warrior"?
I thought it was a pretty tasteless documentary.
I know he refused to have anything to do with it so he pretty much gave them free-reign to do whatever they wanted...
but you could probably count the positive things said about him on one hand.
I found it hard to believe that no one had anything but bad things to say about the guy.
Bobby Heenan pretty much teed off on him in every sound byte he gave.

I went as The Ultimate Warrior for halloween in 1991... I was 6.
(I put my mother on the hunt for the pics... as soon as she finds them, I'll post' em.)
The Ultimate Warrior's best WWF/E moment, IMO, was when he returned at WM 8 to 'help' Hulk Hogan from Sid Justice and Papa Shango.
The Ultimate Warrior went from a mid-card match at WM 4 to loosing the IC title at WM 5 to winning the WWF champion at WM 6... to having a "career match" at WM 7 to a run-in appearance at WM 8... missing WM 9, WM 10, WM 11 and winning a squash match at WM 12.... after a few months of nothing.... he wasn't seen in a WWE ring again until WM 30. Say what you want, but any WWF/E talent is measured by what they do at WM.
His very very short and crappy run in WCW was a joke!!!
But the thing about The Ultimate Warrior that fans loved and will always remember.... when his "Unstable" music hit the speakers, the crowd knew what was about to happen. A freak of nature was gonna come running out from behind the curtain towards the ring.... shake the ropes and usually squash the other poor sap across the ring. And the fans (my age) thought he was the best hero in the world.
If The Ultimate Warrior had been in the WWF around 1993-1995 he would have been bigger than Hogan. Cause there was nobody else at that time that had the drawing power he did. Just look at WM 9 through WM 11. People would have been saying... Hulk who? Savage who?

Everybody knows who I am anyways.... Alex Green. So I don't mind posting this picture.
This pic is of me on Christmas morning from 1991. I was 6. And yes, that is an Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Buddy that santa claus brought me.
I had his wrestling buddy until we cleaned our garage out in 2010-2011. But I still have one hasbro wrestling figure and one jakks wrestling figure of The Ultimate Warrior.
