HDE Wrote:The one player I would add for HCHS is T.J. Green.
I think T.J. basically changed the course of history for HCHS during a three-game stretch in the second season when the Bears should have lost to Letcher, Perry and North Laurel on successive weeks. He showed more heart and made more plays in that three-week stretch than I've ever seen.
I'd go with:
Larkey
Whitehead
Green
Middleton
Jordan Calton?
Jordy Brewer?

What's worse, he was a Cov Cath Colonel until his Senior year.

2 really good players.
Brewer is probally the winningest QB in Harlan Co history and least in modern times. Not sure if any of the Lynch teams had the same starting QB for multiple years?
I am sure HDE could fiqure that 1 out.

And took some fancey legal moves to get and keep him on the field. Without him HHS would have never made it off Log Mountain. Sad thing is he did not play the next week in the Championship game and all the games he played in where forfieted.

Havent seen a Breathitt County one so I will try my hand.. that one is tough:
Mike Holcomb
Justin Haddix
Waylon Chapman
John Rader
Some really good players from Breathitt over the past couple decades:
Kyle Moore
Allen Sperry
Channing Fugate
The Thomas kid at WR
Jonathan Chapman

It's a tough call. Those would be the next two.
I think Calton is the second best defensive player at HCHS, behind only Whitehead.
Brewer was a winner and did everything needed for Harlan County to be successful.
I give Green the edge for what he did that second year to set the stage for what was to come.

Jeremiah Eldridge and Brian Owens were on that D Line with Calton. That sophomore class is what laid the foundation for Black Bear Football!

Jordy was 22-5 as starting QB.
2008 was Zac Blanton
2009 was Larry Williamson/TJ Green
2010/2011 Jordy Brewer
2012 Austin Maggard/Scotty Bailey
2013 Scotty Bailey
2014 ???????
