Best Hitters in the 14th?
#1
Who are the best hitter's in the 14th region?
#2
powell co. has some really good hitters especially there catcher and their 3rd basemen
#3
yeah their 3rd baseman is cory brewer and their catcher is devon pelfrey 2 great players
#4
Cory and Devon are two solid plyers on the powell roster and were a big part of the Championship team last year. There are other players on the rise out there. Matt Reed, a senior this year came up big in the last part of the season last year after a starting slump. In district tourney championship, came in with a bad shoulder injury and had a pinch hit rbi that turned the game around. He will be a great asset for powell county if he can stay hot during this season. Daniel Kinser and David Johnson are two good outfielder's with great speed and quickness. Their wont be many holes to fill this year. Powell will be big in the 14th this season.

I have to agree Godspeed. There wont be many holes to fill, the only thing they really lost was a descent pitcher and some streaky hitters. IMO i think Benningfeild and Brewer will do excellent next season, I see them going far in the region next year.

Yes..both cory's pitched excellent last year.Cory Brewer pitched a 5-0 shutout against a very good Whitley County team last year. He also came up big in the region championship game after Corey Benningfield struggled after a hard rain. Daniel kinser will also be starting some games this year on the mound. Hopefully Coach Varney will find some more depth from the younger players on the team. Seems to me like they might need a reliever.JMO

Very true. They do need a releiver.

One of the strong hitters in the 14th region imo is powell countys outfeilder Matt Reed.He along with Brewer and Pelfrey will be a force to be reckon with this year. They should be the heart of the batting line-up.

Cory Brewer, Devon Pelfrey, Logan King all three of these guys have been working out everyday since their season came to an end after losing to South Laural in the State Sectionals.

Yes, Several of their underclassmen have been going to camps and showcases over the summer trying to improve their skills to get another 14th region championship trophy. I know there are a few of them playing at UK right now in a fall league. Some went to uk this summer and attended hitting and infielding camps. Sounds like they want it bad this year. Might see another piece of hardware in the trophy case at school.

All this talk about Powell's hitters? How about the catcher at KCC. On the other board (you know the evil oneSmile), the Smith kid has been very good the last 4 seasons.
#12
Powell does have a group of kids that can hit the ball. And your saying the Smith kid is the only good hitter on KCC?
#13
There are alot of good hitters in the 14th.Everyone is talking about Powell's hitters, and they have a right to.There are alot of very talented hitters on powells roster. There are alot of others though. Perry has a few, and so do some of the other schools.Estill has a few good hitters, and so does Lee. The 14th just all around has good hitters.

Knott has two good hitters. The Hall, Ryan, kid and Smith. In 2006, KCC had R. HAll, Smith, and Caleb Hall as their best hitters. The rest were just mediocre. Hammonds just couldn't get the right line-up to make things happen. And it's not going to get any better this coming season. All that KCC will have is Hall and Smith. They do have a kid that will be in the 8th that has come along. No Fall ball didn't help either.

The smith kid is a decent ball player! But thats about all they have. I hear that lcc has some nice bats in their line-up with their returnin 6 seniors.

Estill has is going to have some power coming from a few of their bats this year. Because pretty much every starter this year started last year so they will hit the ball.

IMO, I believe that Estill will go far into the Region. They have to watch out for Powell in the district, but i think they can beat anyone, they had a very good solid team last year and have all the ingredients to win a 14th region championship. I look for them to have a good season.
