East side dominates with FT Highlands, Lex Catholic, Cov Catholic and Boyle Co winning numerous states championship. Throw in Johnson Co, past powerhouse like Rockcastle, Knox Co, and even thrown in there Russel Co. just cause if I don't, I will never hear the end of it.

Only to have this person, who has absolutly ZERO ties to the program make the team and the community look stupid. Nobody else here in Independence shares the same narrow-minded, pompous-ass views. My son plays for SK and is a very quiet reserved young man. When he tells me he hates seeing this crap beeing posted and people disliking his teammates and him because of one person's misguided views, what do I tell him? I posted in the past on that "other" site, untill this same individual did his same tired act on there. I found this site by accident and have had a lot of fun here, met some neat people from all over our state. So UKFAN gets the boot from the "other" site and know he's here spewing his venom on here. B*LLSHIT!
Wow straight throw me under the bus and hold me down. Thanks.

Basically the same players back for Collins which is a good thing. They could have worked hard over off season to get stronger which is a good thing. The coaching staff could have made changes in off season which is a good thing. They have a couple of really good players (possible D1) which is a good thing. The problem I see is not enough good supporting cast to go around their good palyers and even if the players worked hard over the off season to get stronger and coaches made good changes, it would have to be huge improvements to get to the level of the top teams in 4A and I just do not think it is possible with what we saw last year. Wish them the best, but I just see average team that benefits from weak schedule and weak side of playoff bracket. They were runners ups last year, but I would rank them around 8th in 4A at the end of last year. Not putting Collins program down; I like the school and hope they continue to get better, I just do not think they are as good as a lot of people want to make them out to be.
Alright, that's a fair assessment. In my opinion, I don't see very many teams this year in 4A that will be better than them other than maybe 3 or 4, but I could be wrong. I also think that Collins has a strong supporting cast around their star players, and hopefully they will prove me right this year. Either way, it appears that Collins will have a very good season this year.

You don't really have any powerhouse programs in the west like you do in the east. Collins has been the most consistent program in the west since they opened, but most other teams have one great year then drop off a bit. Teams like Highlands, the Catholics, Boyle, etc. are consistently good year after year and you just don't really see that with teams in the west.

Wow, for those of you that want to dog Collins, go ahead with the trash. I have been around this game for going on 30 years and this Collins team is far the best you will see from around here since that time. Yes, they got hammered last fall by highlands and that is something I predicted. IT will not happen again. Sure SK might beat Collins BUT I don't think it is a cakewalk for you guys. You guys will be in for a war when you enter the NATION!

On paper Sk and Collins should be good game. Both have lots of seniors and starters returning. We will see who is ready and wants it more in their opening game. If u base Collins ability on their game vs Owen Cnty then it's wrth mentioning that they put in several JV players early in game to help save varsity legs for two day tourney and yes got surprised its also worth mentioning that they hammered Henry Clay Lafayette Tate's Creek and Ballard @ UK which hosted 26 teams including Central which lost to Lafayette. Central beat SK at Old Cty. Collins drilled Lafayette in final 4 then did the same to Henry Clay in championship . Just trying to show that u can't base everything on 7 on 7. looking at SK's results in 2012 I think it's safe to say they probably would not
have fared any better than Collins did against Highlands but this is now 2013 and SK returns a great group of players Good luck. May the best team win.

Well said. What kind of surface does Collin's field have? Should be a good measuring stick for both programs.
